You know what caught me off guard about West Hotel Ataman? I was expecting just another basic three-star spot in Batumi, but honestly, this place punches way above its weight class. Located on Sherif Khimshiashvili Street – which, let me tell you, is one of those quietly perfect side streets that locals actually use but tourists rarely stumble upon – it’s got this relaxed vibe that’s hard to find in the busier parts of the city.

The thing is, Batumi can get pretty hectic, especially during summer when everyone’s hitting the beaches and the main boulevard is packed. But this hotel sits in this sweet spot where you’re close enough to walk to everything (the Black Sea coast is literally a few minutes away), yet you’re not dealing with the constant noise and crowds. I mean, you can actually sleep with your windows open here, which is saying something for a seaside city. The rooms themselves are surprisingly well-maintained – nothing fancy, but clean and comfortable with that kind of solid, no-nonsense Georgian hospitality that I’ve come to really appreciate. The staff actually seems to care about getting things right, and I noticed they remember your name after the first day, which is refreshing.

What really sells this place for me is the location knowledge you get from staying here. The hotel sits right in this neighborhood where you’ve got actual Georgian life happening around you – there’s this little bakery two blocks down where they make fresh khachapuri in the mornings (seriously, follow the smell), and you’re walking distance from both the old town’s cobblestone charm and the newer waterfront developments. I actually found myself using this area as my home base for exploring not just Batumi’s beaches and casino scene, but also for day trips up into the mountains or over to the botanical gardens. The proximity to real Georgian restaurants – not the touristy ones – is honestly worth the stay alone. Plus, parking isn’t the nightmare it can be closer to the main tourist strips, which anyone who’s tried to navigate Batumi by car will definitely appreciate.

  الفندق جميل فيه شطاف ف الحمام وفيه مطعم ف الفندق اسعارة جدا مناسبة.. وجودة الاكل متوسطة بالنسبة لي..
  قريب من البوليفارد .. حيث جميع الفعاليات هناك.. قريب جدا من المول.
  الفندق كان بيتنا الثاني استمتعنا جدا.. الموظفين ودودين ومتعاونين وكاننا عائلة واحدة.. امام الفندق ملعب كورة مناسب جذا للاطفال والمراهقين.

  عاملة الرسبشن لا يخضرني اسمها لطيفة جدا وافتقدناها اما سافرنا.. كمان مراد الموظف كان ينتبه للاطفال وكانهم اخوانه وموظف المطعم مريم حدا.. حب كبير لكم ♥️

  Location is good. Close to the beach and there's a supermarket nearby. It is not noisy.
  
  What could be improved: The room was a lot older than it looked in the picture. Everything was somehow broken or out of date. Too old or cracked, or has been overused. The kettle was extremely dirty , so we asked to change it on the 2nd day of our stay. The pillows were uncomfortable. The floor was dirty, I didn't like the vibe , nor the smell.
  But I think it is a common problem in Batumi, you cannot find an affordable good hotels. But this one was definitely not as good as 3 stars hotel

  The hotel is in a good location, a two minute walk from the promenade. Very friendly and helpful staff, the room was quite clean.
