Hotel Old Town Overview

I’ll be honest – when I first walked up to Hotel Old Town on Vakhtan Gorgasali Street, I wasn’t expecting much from what looked like a pretty standard three-star place. But you know what? Sometimes those assumptions just bite you in the ass, because this little spot in Batumi turned out to be exactly what I needed after a long day wandering around Georgia’s coastal gem.

The thing about this hotel is that it actually lives up to its name – you’re right in the thick of Batumi’s old quarter, which means you can stumble back from dinner without worrying about expensive taxi rides or navigating unfamiliar streets in the dark. I mean, you’re literally a few minutes’ walk from the main boulevard where all the action happens, but tucked away enough that you’re not dealing with street noise all night. The staff seemed genuinely happy to help with directions (always a good sign), and check-in was refreshingly straightforward – none of that bureaucratic paperwork marathon you sometimes get in this part of the world.

What really sold me on the place, though, was the attention to small details that most hotels in this price range just skip. The room had this lived-in comfort that felt more like staying at a well-organized friend’s apartment than some sterile hotel box. Sure, it’s not going to win any design awards, but everything worked properly – the shower had decent pressure, the AC actually cooled things down, and the WiFi didn’t cut out every five minutes. Plus, and this might sound weird, but the breakfast area had this morning light that just made you want to linger over your coffee and plan your day properly. I found myself chatting with other travelers there more than I usually do, which says something about the vibe of the place. The location really shines during Batumi’s busy summer season when finding decent accommodation that won’t break the bank becomes a legitimate challenge – this spot manages to stay reasonable while still feeling like you’re getting proper value for your money.

Best hotels in Batumi range from luxurious beachfront properties along the Black Sea coast to boutique hotels with stunning views of the Adjara mountains and contemporary skyline.

Perfect location in old town! Good aircondition.
Hospitable place with nice staff and manager being all over all the time to make sure we were happy. Very tasty breakfast! Compliments to the chefs!

What could be improved: All in all great, if anything to fix it would be more atmospheric light in the rooms, the rooms were nice but very strong light, guess this is a matter of taste. All in all would recommemd the place!
