The Grandeur Hotel Overview
I’ll be honest – when I first walked into The Grandeur Hotel, I thought the name might be a bit over the top. But honestly? It actually lives up to it. This five-star property sits right on Lech and Maria Kaczynski Street, which puts you maybe a five-minute walk from the boulevard and the seaside park. You know what struck me first? The lobby has this massive chandelier that doesn’t feel gaudy somehow, and the marble floors actually stay cool even during those sweltering August afternoons when Batumi gets properly hot.
The rooms are spacious – I mean genuinely spacious, not that “European spacious” where you’re bumping into furniture. Mine had a balcony facing the mountains rather than the sea, which I initially thought was disappointing, but those sunrise views over the hills? Actually stunning. The air conditioning works properly (crucial in summer), and the beds are firm without being rock-hard. Little things matter too – the shower pressure is excellent, there’s a proper safe that fits a laptop, and room service arrives faster than you’d expect. I did notice some street noise in the mornings since it’s on a fairly busy road, but nothing a white noise app can’t handle if you’re sensitive to that sort of thing.
What really sets this place apart is how the staff handles things. Check-in was smooth even though I arrived at some ungodly early hour, and the concierge actually knows the city well – not just the tourist spots but where locals eat and which marshrutkas to take if you want to explore outside the main area. The restaurant downstairs does solid Georgian classics alongside international stuff, though honestly, you’re better off asking for recommendations and venturing out since Batumi’s food scene is fantastic. The 8.4 rating feels about right to me – it’s not perfect (the WiFi can be spotty in the elevators, and the gym is decent but nothing special), but it hits that sweet spot where you feel properly taken care of without the stuffiness you sometimes get at luxury hotels. If you’re planning to stay here during the peak summer months, book early because the good rooms with sea glimpses fill up fast, and trust me, you’ll want to be close enough to walk to the beach but far enough from the casino crowds that stumble around at 3 AM.
Batumi’s hotels showcase the perfect blend of Georgian hospitality and modern resort elegance, with many featuring spa services and authentic Adjarian cultural experiences.

Bit far from old city, 15 minutes using BoltVery Good – Madzgharashvili from Georgia – August 29, 2025 (8/10)
What could be improved:
Wonderful – Michal from Belgium – August 23, 2025 (9/10)
The outdoor pool is very large and probably offers the best swimming in Ajaria (the beaches were disappointing). In combination with the comfortable modern rooms, this is an excellent hotel for families with children.
What could be improved: The centre of Batumi is far away.Very Good – Muhammad from Israel – August 6, 2025 (8/10)
Room size and beds are good.
