Located right on Khimshiashvili Street – and honestly, if you can pronounce that on your first try, you’re doing better than I did – it sits in this interesting pocket of Batumi where the old residential vibe meets all the new construction happening around Orbi City.

The apartment itself feels more like staying at a friend’s well-designed place than a typical hotel room. I mean, there’s a proper kitchen where you can actually cook something beyond instant noodles, which turned out to be clutch since Georgian markets are incredible and I kept bringing back way too much fresh produce. The balcony – well, depending on which unit you get – gives you either city views or a peek at the mountains in the distance. What I really appreciated was how quiet it stays at night, even with all the development going on nearby. The soundproofing is surprisingly solid for a newer building.

Here’s the thing about this area that most people don’t realize until they’re there: you’re close enough to walk to the main tourist strips along the boulevard, but far enough away that you’re not dealing with the constant crowd noise and those aggressive taxi drivers honking every five seconds. The walk to the beach takes maybe fifteen minutes if you’re moving at a decent pace, and you’ll pass some genuinely good local spots that tourists usually miss completely. There’s this little khachapuri place about two blocks away that doesn’t look like much from the outside but serves some of the best cheese-filled bread I had during my entire stay in Georgia. The staff at Suny helped me find it, actually – they seem to know the neighborhood pretty well and aren’t shy about sharing recommendations that go beyond the obvious tourist traps. With a 9.4 rating, I can see why people keep coming back here. It’s one of those places that gets the balance right between having everything you need without trying too hard to impress you with unnecessary fancy touches.
