Piazza Epigraph Overview
You know what caught me off guard about Piazza Epigraph? I was expecting just another decent place to crash in Batumi, but this four-star spot on Noe Zhordania Street actually has some serious character. I mean, the name alone made me curious – who calls their hotel “Piazza Epigraph”? – but once you’re there, it sort of makes sense. The whole place has this understated literary vibe, like someone who actually reads books designed it instead of just following some corporate hotel playbook.
The location is honestly perfect if you want to feel like you’re staying somewhere real Batumians might actually hang out. Noe Zhordania Street isn’t right in the tourist circus near the boulevard (which can get pretty intense during summer), but you’re still close enough to walk to the seaside without breaking a sweat. I loved that you could grab coffee at the little Georgian places nearby in the morning – you know, the ones where they don’t speak much English but make incredible khachapuri. The neighborhood has that lived-in feel where laundry hangs from Soviet-era balconies, but it’s not run-down at all, just authentic. Parking was surprisingly easy too, which anyone who’s driven in Batumi will tell you is no small miracle.
What really sold me on this place was how they handled the details. The rooms are clean and modern without being sterile – they’ve got these little touches that show someone was actually thinking about what travelers need, not just what looks good in photos. The Wi-Fi actually works (tested it thoroughly while video-calling home), the shower pressure is solid, and honestly, the beds are comfortable enough that I didn’t wake up feeling like I’d been wrestling with Georgian wine all night. The staff seemed genuinely helpful rather than just going through the motions, and their English was good enough for real conversations about where to find the best adjarian khachapuri in town. I did notice some street noise in the early morning – Batumi wakes up early and doesn’t apologize for it – but nothing that would keep you up at night. That 9.1 rating makes complete sense once you’ve stayed there; it’s the kind of place that doesn’t try too hard but gets the important stuff right, which in my experience is way better than those flashy hotels that look amazing but leave you dealing with broken air conditioning and attitude from the front desk.

Excellent new property (opened 2024) with high quality windows, furniture and customer service. – Christoph from Switzerland – August 18, 2025 (10/10)
Great customer service, friendly staff, soundproof windows, balcony, high quality bed and sheets, neat and clean bathroom, central location
What could be improved: The whole neighbourhood is about to be upgraded. A lot of buildings in the vicinity are under construction. However, it didn’t cause any noise trouble as the windows are super thick and soundproof. Just a bit difficult to walk around all the scaffolding on the sidewalk in the neighbourhoodExceptional. – Qamar from Bahrain – August 15, 2025 (10/10)
I like everything about this hotel, the location, the room, the bathroom, and even the stuff they were so welcoming and helpful. It’s a great value for the money and it’s really close to Piazza square, and very short walk from everywhere too!

Overall good experience.
It’s the new hotel with good furniture.
The breakfasts were not very varied, but tasty.
What could be improved: I had unpleasant welcome.
When we arrived, there was no blanket or bathroom essentials in the room. The staff initially said everything was there, but then came to check and saw it was missing. Later, they brought a blanket, but we had to put it into the duvet cover ourselves. They also didn’t have a baby crib, even though I had requested one in advance.
Following day evening was perfect, so it was just a small mistake.
