Sky Tower Hotel Overview
I’ll be honest – when I first walked up to the Sky Tower Hotel on Sherif Khimshiashvili Street, I wasn’t expecting much from the exterior. But man, was I wrong. This five-star property completely caught me off guard in the best possible way, and I mean that as someone who’s stayed in way too many hotels around Batumi.
The thing about this place is how it manages to feel both polished and genuinely welcoming at the same time. You know what I noticed right away? The staff actually remembers your name after day one – not just the front desk person, but the housekeeping team too. The rooms are spacious (I had one of the corner units) with these floor-to-ceiling windows that give you this incredible view of the Black Sea coastline. Actually, if you’re booking, try to get a room facing west – the sunsets are absolutely ridiculous. The beds are properly comfortable too, none of that rock-hard mattress nonsense you sometimes get at fancy places. I sleep terribly when I travel, but I was out cold every night here.
What really sets this hotel apart though is its location on Khimshiashvili Street – you’re literally a five-minute walk from Batumi Boulevard, but far enough back that you don’t get all the street noise from the main tourist drag. I could actually sleep with the windows cracked open, which was perfect since Georgian nights can get pretty warm. The neighborhood has this great mix of local cafes and family-run restaurants that most tourists never discover because they stick to the waterfront. There’s this tiny bakery two blocks down that opens at 6 AM – their khachapuri is better than anything you’ll find in the hotel district, trust me. The hotel’s restaurant is solid (their Georgian wine selection is honestly impressive), but don’t miss exploring the area on foot. Parking was surprisingly easy too, which if you’ve driven around Batumi, you know that’s not always a given. Check-in was smooth, though I’d recommend arriving after 3 PM since they seem to have a lot of business travelers checking out around noon and the lobby can get a bit chaotic. The 7.7 rating makes sense to me – it’s not quite perfect (the WiFi in the elevator never works, and the gym is smaller than you’d expect for a five-star place), but honestly, those are pretty minor complaints when everything else clicks so well.

Amazing stay and staff here. The location is perfect, the facilities clean and the sea view just outstanding. The only thing – we were not able to use the pool as it was under maintenance. Overall I found the price and quality of the hotel perfect. Can definitely recommend despite many bad reviews. Not sure why people are so picky. Yeah, the hotel is not new but it's quite clean and the rooms are pretty spacious.
What could be improved: The pool under maintenanceVery Good – Bakhia from Georgia – February 27, 2024 (8/10)
What could be improved: Breakfast was horrible, there was no coffee, no fresh juice, no sort of meals, no dessert and it was tasteless.
