Tapis Rouge Design Boutique Hotel Overview

You know what really caught me off guard about Tapis Rouge Design Boutique Hotel? I was expecting another generic luxury place, but this five-star spot on Rustaveli Avenue actually has some serious personality. The building itself sits right at this interesting corner where the main boulevard meets a quieter side street – honestly, it’s one of those locations where you feel like you’re in the heart of Batumi without being overwhelmed by the casino crowds that tend to dominate other parts of the city.

The design really lives up to the boutique promise, and I mean that in the best way possible. They’ve got this whole sophisticated thing going on without feeling stuffy – lots of rich textures and colors that actually make sense together, not just thrown together because someone read it in a design magazine. The lobby has this great energy in the evenings when guests are heading out to explore, but mornings are surprisingly peaceful. What I really appreciated was how the staff seemed to genuinely know the neighborhood – when I asked about getting to the old town area, they didn’t just point me toward the main tourist drag but suggested this lovely walking route through some local streets I never would’ve found on my own.

The rooms are where this place really shines though. Mine faced toward the avenue side, and while you might worry about noise, the windows do their job well – you get just enough street life to feel connected to the city without losing sleep over it. The attention to detail is what you’d expect from a place with an 8.4 rating, but it’s the little touches that stick with you. I’m talking about things like actually decent coffee in the room (not that powdered stuff), lighting that works for both reading and getting ready to go out, and a bathroom where everything feels substantial, not like it’ll break if you look at it wrong. The whole experience just feels thoughtfully put together by people who understand that business travelers and leisure guests both want to feel comfortable, not impressed by flashy nonsense that doesn’t actually work.

Batumi’s apartments offer charming accommodations with sea views, perfect for families wanting to experience daily life in this culturally rich Georgian coastal city.

Reviews of Tapis Rouge Design Boutique Hotel

  • Nice stay in the city center of Batumi. – Nino from Georgia – August 11, 2025 (8/10)

Hotel is very nice, stuff also very nice and friendly, always keen to help, location is really Superb! in old town of Batumi which is one of the prettiest part of the city, very close to all the Batumi main attractions. I would recommend this place for tourists to stay in Batumi. Also breakfast was on the top floor of he building and we had a great sea and city view from there.

  • Very Good – Frank from Canada – July 15, 2025 (8/10)

The hotel is not far from the airport. We received the requested room and the Sea view was excellent. We did not attend at the restaurant as there were many restaurants in the area we wanted to try for local cuisine.

What could be improved: The reception desk staff were pleasant but not overly friendly. This was okay just not the welcome I had hoped for. The hotel entrace is hidden at the back and you need to walk through a driveway.

The taxi service overcharged us from the airport significantly and I only realized once we left the taxi. For future rides I registered with Bolt (similar to Uber) that operated in Giorgia and had no issues afterwards.

  • Batumi from top – Daamle from India – June 13, 2025 (9/10)

The location and view was fantastic. Staff cooperative. Walking distance from major local points

What could be improved: The dental and shaving kits must be placed during room cleaning activity

  • I would this hotel and same room again whenever I travel to Batumi – Maan from United Arab Emirates – June 12, 2025 (9/10)

Amazingly located , access to everywhere , clean and tidy

What could be improved: I was expecting a lobby entrance but both ways didn’t harm

  • Exactly What I Expected — Great View, Location, and Dining – Alexandr from Cyprus – June 11, 2025 (9/10)

This hotel was exactly what I expected — and that’s a good thing. The room offered a beautiful view, just like in the photos, and the location is truly excellent: close to everything, yet quiet and relaxing.

A special mention goes to the restaurant on the top floor — not only is the food delicious, but the atmosphere and the panoramic view over Batumi make it a perfect place to unwind.

    Would definitely stay here again.

What could be improved: Unfortunately, my experience was affected by a major issue: the room was heavily smoked in. The smell of cigarettes was overwhelming — it wasn’t just in the air, but deeply embedded in the pillows, bed linens, and even the mattress. It felt like people had been smoking in that room for years.

This was really unpleasant and made it difficult to relax or get a good night’s sleep. I hope the hotel takes this seriously and improves room freshness and cleanliness going forward.

  • Good – Sonja from Georgia – June 8, 2025 (7/10)

Somewhat strange hotel, seemingly fancy but pretty oldfashioned. It was absolutely fine for a night.

What could be improved: Outcide was noisy exactly under my balcony workers did some digging etc week end after 5pm!!(( no rules not dicipline??

  • good – Ulaş from Turkey – February 4, 2025 (7/10)

    location is great.

What could be improved: hotel’s entry door didn’t find easily. you need to walk next to the car park.

when we come in the room, wi-fi doesn’t work in the room. it was working out of room. when i talk to reception, he says i will talk tecnic personel then it will be ok. just in case if they doesn’t fix it, what will you do? he says nothing. how come? could you change our room? no, hotel is full. i didn’t accept this solution. they didn’t fix it and he came the room, he gave us new wifi but that wasn’t work properly and i didn’t do anything

  • great value for money! has amazing terrace restaurant upstairs. It was very clean. recommended! – Mariami from Switzerland – January 2, 2025 (9/10)

very clean, stylish and best location

What could be improved: the heating was a bit too high.
