You know what really struck me when I first walked into Ramada Plaza by Wyndham Batumi & Casino? The lobby actually feels grand without being stuffy – which honestly isn’t something you see everywhere along the Black Sea coast. This five-star property sits right on Zh Shartava street, and I mean literally steps from where all the action happens in Batumi. The casino downstairs might not be your thing (it wasn’t really mine), but there’s something kind of exciting about hearing the distant sounds of slot machines mixed with the sea breeze when you’re heading out for the evening.

The rooms are solid – I stayed on the eighth floor and could see straight out to the water, which was perfect for those early morning coffee moments before the boardwalk gets crowded with families and street performers. What I really appreciated was how quiet it stays at night despite being in such a central spot. You’re walking distance from the Ali and Nino statue (you’ll see it, trust me – it’s impossible to miss), and the Batumi Boulevard is basically your backyard. The staff actually knows their stuff too, which seems obvious but you’d be surprised how rare that is. When I asked about getting to the cable car, they didn’t just point vaguely – they drew me a little map and mentioned which marshrutka to catch if I didn’t want to walk the whole way.

Here’s the thing about this place – it gets the balance right between being fancy enough that you feel like you’re treating yourself, but not so precious that you’re afraid to come back sandy from the beach. The restaurant downstairs does this amazing khachapuri that’s honestly better than some of the tourist spots along the waterfront, and room service actually arrives hot, which I’ve learned not to take for granted. Parking was easy enough, though summers get pretty hectic with all the domestic tourists from Tbilisi descending on the coast. I’d say if you’re coming in July or August, maybe book that spot in advance. The whole experience just felt… right, I guess? Like someone actually thought about what travelers need instead of just checking boxes on some corporate checklist.

  We stayed in the "Junior King Suite with Sea View" for 2 nights and it was spectacular!
  – The rooms were clean, neat and very well maintained. Bed was very comfortable and big.
  – The view (our room was sea-facing on the 16th floor) was amazingly breath-taking. Loved the view we had from our room. Definitely something that will stay in my memory for a long time – it is a bit of the city with sea view with the lighting at night!
  – Had all the basic amenities you would need. Only toothbrush/paste was something you need to ask reception and they will bring it to your room. But they mention this beforehand during check-in
  – Check in process was quick and easy.
  – Located very near to the beach, it is a walking distance to the boulevard. We thoroughly enjoyed walking to the beach and then to the Ali and Nino statue about 3kms away (it was a long pleasant walk along the Boulevard)
  – Lot of grocery shops and restaurants nearby. Carrefour is also located 5-10 mins away from the hotel.
  – The washrooms were spacious and very clean.
  – Staff members were all very polite and kind.
  – Could easily get bolt taxi here.
  
  We opted for no-breakfast option as there were many options nearby. Even though this is an expensive stay, would highly recommend staying here for atleast a day just for the VIEW and the comfort.
  
  What could be improved: – Not an issue but just as info to other travellers – the bathroom does not have a health faucet.
  – 1 main issue we faced in our room was that the wifi was very weak – we got good signal in the hallways, decently good in the desk area but we did not get any signal on the bed. We had to rely on our mobile data because we had a local SIM else it would have been difficult. This is something that needs to be rectified as you pay so much for your stay and getting good wifi is a given these days.
  – The latch (above the lock) on the main door was either removed/broken.
