Sheraton Batumi Hotel Overview

Look, I’ve stayed at plenty of hotels along the Black Sea coast, but Sheraton Batumi Hotel honestly caught me off guard – and I mean that in the best way possible. Walking up to this five-star property on Rustaveli Street, you immediately get why it’s become such a big deal in Batumi. The building itself has this sleek, modern presence that somehow doesn’t clash with the city’s eclectic architectural mix (which, let’s be honest, can be pretty wild).

What really struck me was how they’ve managed to capture that international hotel polish without completely losing the Georgian character. The lobby has these gorgeous views of the sea, and you know what? You can actually open the windows – something I always appreciate after too many sealed hotel boxes. The staff genuinely seems to know the city well, not just the tourist highlights but the kind of details that matter when you’re trying to figure out where to grab a proper khachapuri at midnight or which marshrutka actually goes where you need it to go. My room faced the water, and honestly, watching the sunrise over the Black Sea while having my morning coffee became this unexpected ritual I looked forward to each day.

The location is pretty smart too – you’re right in the heart of things on Rustaveli, so you can walk to the old town, the port area, or those slightly bizarre but entertaining modern towers without breaking a sweat. I actually found myself using the hotel as a home base for exploring, which isn’t something I usually do when I’m somewhere as compact as Batumi. The pool area gets busy during peak season (summer months can be intense here), but early morning or late afternoon, it’s this perfect spot to decompress after wandering around the city’s controlled chaos. One small thing – the elevators can be a bit slow when everyone’s heading down for breakfast, but honestly, that’s such a minor gripe. The whole experience just felt more authentic than I expected from a big chain property, and in a place like Batumi where tourism is booming but the infrastructure is still catching up, that balance between reliability and local flavor is harder to nail than you’d think.

To book hotel in Batumi during the famous Black Sea Jazz Festival, visitors should make reservations well in advance as this coastal city attracts beach lovers and cultural enthusiasts from around the world.

The hotel is in an excellent location.
    Great casino.

What could be improved: I gave a score of 8 and not 10 because there is no option to stay with two children in one room, only one child. Therefore, a family of four must book two rooms, making it very expensive.
