Old BATUMI MGZAVREBI APARTMENTS Overview
Look, I’ll be honest – when I first heard about Old BATUMI MGZAVREBI APARTMENTS, I wasn’t sure what to expect from the name alone. But walking up to this place on Memed Abashidze Avenue, you immediately get why it works so well. The building has this interesting mix of old-world charm with modern touches that somehow feels authentically Batumi without trying too hard. You know what I mean? It’s not one of those places that’s been sanitized for tourists – it actually feels like it belongs in the neighborhood.
The apartments themselves are surprisingly spacious, and honestly, that’s what won me over. This four-star setup gives you way more room than your typical hotel, which is clutch if you’re staying more than a few days or traveling with family. The kitchens are actually functional – I mean, you can cook a real meal, not just heat up instant noodles. The whole setup feels lived-in but well-maintained, if that makes sense. What really impressed me was the attention to local details in the decor. Nothing flashy, just thoughtful touches that remind you you’re in Georgia, not some generic international chain.
The location is pretty sweet too – you’re close enough to the action but not stuck in the middle of the tourist chaos. Memed Abashidze Avenue is one of those streets that locals actually use, so you’ll see real life happening around you. The beach is totally walkable, maybe ten minutes if you’re taking your time, and there are some genuinely good restaurants within a couple blocks that most visitors never find. I particularly loved that you could grab fresh khachapuri from this little place around the corner for breakfast – way better than hotel continental spreads. The staff seemed to really know the area too, which is rarer than you’d think. They pointed me toward this amazing wine bar that wasn’t in any guidebook I’d seen. Parking can be a bit tight during peak summer months, just so you know, but the management tries to help figure it out. Overall, it’s one of those places that gets better the longer you stay – you start to feel like you’re actually experiencing Batumi rather than just passing through it.

Wonderful – Elçin from Turkey – August 6, 2025 (9/10)
Her şey çok güzel.İhtiyacınız olan her şeyi bırakılmış ve oteli bulamayınca host bizi almaya geldi gerçekten düşünceliydi.
What could be improved: Giriş kapısı arka sokakta bulması zor ve akşamları çok karanlık.Exceptional – Tatiana from Belarus – July 27, 2025 (10/10)
Очень удобное расположение в центре старого города, одновременно недалеко от моря.
Очень понравилось, будем рекомендовать! – Natalia from Russia – July 18, 2025 (10/10)
Fair – Mohammed from Kuwait – August 24, 2024 (5/10)
Location is good. Attraction are near.
What could be improved: Owner was very rude during check in and tried to get extra money from us for bunk bed Lenin which I already paid for. Anyways I said I’m not paying and he removed the Lenin for the stay. Parking is a big no to this place. It’s very difficult to get a parking space. Washroom needs renovation.Best location in Batumi + super comfy apartment – Julie from United States – May 1, 2024 (10/10)
The location is the best. It was the best introduction to Batumi. The apartment location is perfect. Minutes anywhere and the gardens and boulevard, cafes and markets are all easy to get to. The inside area was very comfy and good quality furnishings. The wifi worked great and consistently. Air conditioning worked great too. It was quiet and safe for solo women travelers. The kitchen had all the necessary items. The owner is super helpful and replies quickly. I stayed one full month in April.
The area (old city) and waterfront is amazing. So many free activities and everything is right next to the apartment. There are free outdoor gyms along the boulevard (sea front) and forest trails and lots of fountains with free water. I walked 10km every morning and didn't need to take a water bottle with. The street dogs near the old city are super friendly and well taken care of. They'll happily go for a walk with you…or sit and keep you company.Pleasant – Nini from Georgia – April 15, 2024 (8/10)
Location is pretty good! Close to boulvar and vegan cafe restaurants 😋 i loved jacuzzi in bath and also bed was pretty comfortable ☺️ all the necessary things were available in the house. Host was answering messages immediately .
What could be improved: I think it can get cozier, in the beginning when I entered the atmosphere was a bit cold looking because its minimalistic but in a way that it’s less cozy, but with time spent there i liked it more) but for first impression and more good looking atmosphere i’d add some things maybe in design.Exceptional – Ana from Georgia – August 24, 2023 (10/10)
The property has excellent location, in the city center, near the sea. The host is very kind and helpful. Everything is comfortable for group tours.
Very Good – Ron from Israel – April 7, 2023 (8/10)
great location. large flat
What could be improved: the bedroom had strong smoking smell.
sheets were not big enough to cover the mattress and we woke up and found ourselves sleeping on the mattress without sheetsExcellent location – Anil from India – April 3, 2023 (8/10)
Location of this apartment was excellent. All attractions are at a walking distance. It is well equipped, has everything you may need for a comfortable stay.
What could be improved: There was no heating in the bedroom because of which we had to sleep in the living room. The bed linen could have been better. The beds were not very comfortable.Exceptional – Nataly from Georgia – February 27, 2023 (10/10)
the best location in the heart of the old city, stunning view, roomy terrace, very helpful and friendly host
What could be improved: nothing to say
