I’ll be honest – when I first walked up to the New Batumi Inn Hotel on Angisa Street, I wasn’t expecting much from this three-star place. But you know what? Sometimes those modest expectations lead to the nicest surprises. The building itself is pretty straightforward, nothing fancy, but there’s something refreshingly unpretentious about it that I actually appreciated after seeing so many over-the-top hotels trying too hard.

The location turned out to be one of those hidden gems that locals probably take for granted. Angisa Street is quiet enough that you won’t have traffic noise keeping you up, but you’re still close enough to walk to the main action in Batumi without needing taxis everywhere. I mean, you can actually hear the Black Sea from some of the rooms on clear nights, which is pretty cool. The staff – and this might sound like a small thing, but it matters – they actually seemed to know the neighborhood. When I asked about finding a good khachapuri place that wasn’t touristy, the guy at reception didn’t just point me toward the hotel restaurant. He gave me actual directions to this little bakery a few blocks over where locals go.

The rooms are clean and functional, though honestly, don’t expect luxury finishes or anything Instagram-worthy. The beds are comfortable enough, the shower has decent water pressure (always a gamble in this part of the world), and there’s air conditioning that actually works when the Georgian summer heat hits. What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night – Angisa Street doesn’t get the party crowd that some of the beachfront hotels deal with, so you can actually sleep. The Wi-Fi is solid too, which matters if you’re trying to stay connected or upload those sunset photos from the Batumi Boulevard. Parking can be a bit tricky during peak season, but there’s usually something available on the side streets if you’re willing to walk an extra minute or two. It’s the kind of place where you check in, drop your bags, and head out to explore – which, let’s face it, is exactly what you should be doing in Batumi anyway.

  Очень удобное расположение, магазин напротив , до пляжа 5 минут, приветливый персонал , в комнате есть кухня , холодильник , кондиционер и балкончик.
  
  What could be improved: Лейка в душе текла, крючки были отломаны, от столешницы отслоился верхний слой. Ощущение неопрятности это придавало , хотя в номере было все вымыто и чисто.
  Надеюсь на следующий год это исправят и тогда это прекраснейшее место для отдыха.

  The took 5 Gel more, as they was offering a discount on the same day i checked in.

  I would rate this place 3 of 10, and these 3 points are about:
  1. Location. The location is good, it's close to a mall and not far away from the beach;
  2. Wi-Fi. It didn't work quite well, but at least we had it;
  3. Hot water and AC. Both worked fine.
  
  What could be improved: Now it's the part of what I didn't like. Let me describe it point by point:
  1. Accommodation type. We requested to have a room with a double bed, but in fact, we got a room with 2 single beds. The hotel confirmed this request when I made a reservation on Booking. When I approached the guy in the reception, he didn't believe me, so I had to show him a screenshot from Booking, and he said that they needed at least 1 day to solve it. I agreed. And guess what? Nothing happened, nobody approached me after 1 or even after 5 days.
  2. The room. It was a small room, with a really small bathroom, 28-inch size TV, AC, a refrigerator, 2 single beds and a sofa. Oh yeah, and the balcony. The balcony is impossible to close since the door can't be closed due to some malfunction. Almost the story with the entrance door lock. The lock is jamming, please change it.
  3. Cleaning. For the 8 days that we lived there, NOBODY cleaned the room. I'm not even saying about providing bath things like shampoo daily or changing the towels. I suppose they do it only before new guests arrive. But have to admit, the room was clean when we checked in.
  4. Pillows. After 2 days my neck started hurting that much, so I couldn't move my head.
  5. Power outages. This is not the hotel's fault, more like the city's problem, but we had power outages like 4 times during a week.
  6. The price. Taking into account all the cons I mentioned, the price is too high for this. For that money, I could have booked an apartment in Orbi, with a normal bed, wifi and cleaning.
