I stumbled across Moonlight Apart-Hotel Batumi during my second trip to Georgia, and honestly, it turned out to be one of those pleasant surprises you don’t expect from a three-star place. The location on Pirosmani Street is actually pretty smart – you’re close enough to hear the Black Sea if you listen carefully from the upper floors, but far enough from the main tourist chaos that you can actually get some sleep. I mean, Batumi can get pretty wild during summer nights, especially around the boulevard area, so this spot gives you the best of both worlds.

What really struck me about this place is how they’ve managed to nail the apart-hotel concept without making it feel sterile. The rooms have these little kitchenettes that are actually functional – not just for show like some places I’ve stayed. I ended up cooking breakfast a few times using ingredients from the small market just down the street, and you know what? It felt more like staying in a local friend’s apartment than a typical hotel. The staff genuinely seems to care about getting things right, which isn’t always a given in this price range. During my stay in late spring, I noticed they keep the common areas spotless without being obsessive about it, and check-in was refreshingly straightforward – no endless forms or pushy upselling.

The neighborhood itself has this authentic Georgian feel that the newer, flashier hotels closer to the waterfront sometimes lack. You’ll find yourself walking past actual residential buildings where locals hang their laundry and chat on balconies, which gives you a real sense of the city beyond the tourist bubble. It’s maybe a 12-minute walk to Batumi Boulevard if you’re eager to hit the main attractions, but honestly, I found myself enjoying the quieter streets around Pirosmani more than I expected. There’s this little bakery two blocks over that makes khachapuri that’ll ruin you for the tourist versions, and the hotel staff actually pointed me toward it rather than some overpriced place that probably gives them kickbacks. That kind of local knowledge is worth its weight in lari, especially when you’re trying to experience Georgia beyond the guidebook highlights.

  I absolutely loved my stay in this cozy apartment on the 19th floor! The view of the sea was breathtaking – waking up to it every morning was a real treat. The place is beautifully renovated, very clean, and has everything you need for a comfortable stay.
