New Wave Apart-Hotel Overview
I’ll be honest – when I first heard about New Wave Apart-Hotel, I wasn’t sure what to expect from the name. But walking up to this place on Sherif Khimshiashvili Street, you immediately get why they went with “New Wave.” The building has this sleek, modern vibe that stands out from some of the older Soviet-era structures you see around this part of Batumi. What really caught my attention was how they’ve managed to feel contemporary without being sterile, you know? The lobby actually has character – there’s local artwork on the walls and the staff genuinely seemed to know the neighborhood when I asked about dinner recommendations.
The apart-hotel concept works brilliantly here, especially if you’re staying more than a couple nights. I mean, having a proper kitchenette changes everything when you’re traveling. You can grab fresh khachapuri from the bakery down the street and actually have a decent breakfast setup, or store those amazing Georgian wines you’ll inevitably buy too much of. The rooms feel more like temporary apartments than hotel boxes – there’s actual storage space and the furniture doesn’t look like it came from a catalog. What impressed me most was the attention to practical details: good water pressure (not always a given in this part of town), reliable WiFi that actually reaches the corners of the room, and blackout curtains that work. The four-star rating feels earned rather than inflated, which honestly isn’t something I can say about every place I’ve stayed in Georgia.
Location-wise, you’re in a sweet spot that locals appreciate but tourists often overlook. Sherif Khimshiashvili isn’t the main drag, so you avoid the constant traffic noise from Rustaveli Avenue, but you’re still close enough to walk to the Boulevard and the beach in about ten minutes. There’s a fantastic family-run restaurant called Sanapiro just two blocks away that serves incredible mtsvadi – the kind of place where you’ll see more Georgian license plates than rental cars in the parking area. The hotel sits in what feels like a real neighborhood rather than a tourist zone, which means you get a genuine sense of daily life in Batumi. Parking can be a bit tight during summer months, but the hotel staff helped sort that out without me even asking. One thing to note – the area gets pretty quiet after 10 PM, which is perfect if you want to sleep but might feel a bit isolated if you’re looking for late-night energy. Overall, New Wave delivers on being both comfortable and authentically local, which is exactly what you want when you’re trying to actually experience a place rather than just pass through it.
Hotels near me in Batumi offer convenient access to the seaside boulevard, where guests can easily walk to Batumi Botanical Garden, Europe Square, and authentic Georgian restaurants.

Reviews of New Wave Apart-Hotel
Wonderful – Ket from Georgia – August 28, 2025 (9/10)
ოთახი იყო სუფთა, მოწესრიგებული, ასეთი კომფორტული სასტუმროსთვის ძალიან კარგი ფასია.
What could be improved: საუზმეზე არ იყო საკვების დიდი არჩევანი, თუმცა მშირი არ დარჩები.
სასტუმრო ჩიხში დგას, ამიტომ ტაქსებს უჭირთ მოგნება. თუ ტაქსის გამოძახებას აპირებთ არ გამოიძახოთ სასტუმროდან, გამოდით მთავარ ქუჩაზე და ისე გამოიძახეთ.Exceptional – Cybrut_bag from Georgia – July 28, 2025 (10/10)
It's a very pleasant environment with attentive staff, and the location is great (surrounded by a shopping center, dining spots, the boulevard, the seaside, and more). Oh, and most importantly – it's clean.
