Sherif Khimshiashvili isn’t the main drag, so you avoid the constant traffic noise from Rustaveli Avenue, but you’re still close enough to walk to the Boulevard and the beach in about ten minutes. There’s a fantastic family-run restaurant called Sanapiro just two blocks away that serves incredible mtsvadi – the kind of place where you’ll see more Georgian license plates than rental cars in the parking area. The hotel sits in what feels like a real neighborhood rather than a tourist zone, which means you get a genuine sense of daily life in Batumi. Parking can be a bit tight during summer months, but the hotel staff helped sort that out without me even asking. One thing to note – the area gets pretty quiet after 10 PM, which is perfect if you want to sleep but might feel a bit isolated if you’re looking for late-night energy. Overall, New Wave delivers on being both comfortable and authentically local, which is exactly what you want when you’re trying to actually experience a place rather than just pass through it.
