What struck me most was how they’ve managed to make this five-star place feel more like a home than a hotel. The apartments are proper apartments, you know? Full kitchens with decent appliances (I actually cooked breakfast a couple mornings), separate living areas where you can spread out, and those floor-to-ceiling windows that make the whole space feel enormous. The location on Sherif Khimshiashvili Street means you’re basically surrounded by all the new development – there’s a massive mall practically next door, and the beach is just a short walk down. I loved being able to grab fresh khachapuri from the little Georgian place around the corner, then head back up to enjoy it with that killer view.

The thing is, Orbi City can feel a bit sterile compared to the rest of Batumi – it’s very new, very planned, very… well, sort of artificial. But that also means everything works properly, which isn’t always a given in this part of the world. The elevators are fast, the wifi actually handles video calls, and I never had issues with hot water or air conditioning. Sure, it might not have the character of staying in one of those converted mansions in the old town, but when you’re watching the sunset paint the Black Sea gold from your living room, you realize there are definitely worse problems to have. The staff seemed genuinely helpful too – not just going through the motions, but actually interested in making sure you knew where to find good food or how to get to the cable car up to the botanical garden.
