IRISE Overview
I’ll be honest – when I first walked up to IRISE on Vaja Pshavela Street, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. The building has this sort of understated modern vibe that doesn’t scream “look at me” like some of the flashier places closer to the coastline, but you know what? That actually turned out to be one of its best qualities.
The location is pretty smart if you ask me. You’re about a 15-minute walk from the main tourist madness around Europe Square and the Boulevard, which means you can easily get to all the action but still retreat somewhere that feels more like actual Batumi rather than tourist central. Vaja Pshavela is one of those streets where you’ll see locals going about their daily business – there’s a decent bakery just down the block that I kept hitting up for khachapuri, and the whole area has this lived-in feel that I really appreciated. The three-star rating might make some people think it’s basic, but honestly, the 8.7 guest rating tells the real story here.
What struck me most about this place was how the staff seemed to actually care about getting the details right. Check-in was smooth – no awkward waiting around or confusion about reservations. The rooms are clean and thoughtfully laid out, nothing fancy but everything works properly, which is more than I can say for some supposedly fancier spots I’ve stayed at in the region. The Wi-Fi actually delivers on its promises (crucial if you’re trying to stay connected), and the beds are comfortable enough that I wasn’t tossing and turning all night. I mean, the decor won’t win any design awards, but there’s something refreshing about a place that focuses on functionality over Instagram-worthy aesthetics. The bathrooms are modern and the water pressure is solid – small things that matter when you’re actually living there for a few days. One thing to note is that it can get a bit quiet in the evenings since you’re not right in the thick of things, but for me that was perfect after long days exploring the old town and stuffing myself with Georgian food. If you’re the type who needs to stumble directly from a nightclub into your hotel lobby, this probably isn’t your spot, but if you want somewhere comfortable and well-run that gives you easy access to everything without being in the middle of the chaos, IRISE hits that sweet spot pretty well.

The receptionist was very nice and the room provided was amazing with a great view.
What could be improved: The shower head had some issues so could have been better and we felt the heat didn’t work properly in the room initially and we had to keep everything turned on to keep it warm.It was a wonderful stay. Well, to begin with the staff was friendly and helpful. As our room heater was not working, he came with a portable heater and fixed it, which was equally good. The washroom was well maintained and had the toiletries required. The balcony was beautiful as well as the area was also peaceful. It
What could be improved: Nothing to mention.Exceptional – Aleksei from Russia – December 10, 2024 (10/10)
Nice place with a central location. Clean, evrything in the shower worked properly. The bed was comfortable. Nana is extremely helpful and friendly. There are rooma overlooking the street and the courtyard, I stayed in the latter an it was very quiet there; I do not khow how noisy it is the other rooms.
I stayed there in December, it was a bit cold outside at night, so I used the conditioner in the heating mode and it was quite comfortable in the room.
What could be improved: The guests in the rooms next to mine and opposite to mine, and their very loud conversations until 5 a.m.Nice hotel and not so expensive – Vural from Turkey – November 16, 2024 (10/10)
