Royal Venezia Hotel Overview

I’ll be honest – when I first walked up to Royal Venezia Hotel on Zviad Gamsakhurdia Street, I wasn’t expecting much from a three-star place. But you know what? This little spot actually surprised me in the best way. It’s tucked right into one of those tree-lined streets that feels authentically Georgian, where you can hear the distant hum of Batumi’s main drag without being right in the thick of tourist chaos.

The thing about this hotel is that it gets the basics really right – and I mean that as a compliment. The rooms are clean and comfortable without trying to be something they’re not, and honestly, the staff here seems to genuinely care about making sure you’re sorted. I stayed here during shoulder season, and the front desk guy (wish I remembered his name) gave me these super specific directions to the good khachapuri place around the corner that I never would’ve found otherwise. The shower pressure is actually decent – which, let’s face it, can be hit or miss in this price range – and the beds are firm enough that you won’t wake up feeling like you slept on a marshmallow.

What really won me over, though, is the location. You’re maybe a twelve-minute walk to the Boulevard and the beach, but far enough from the main hotel strip that you’re not dealing with drunk tourists stumbling past your window at 2 AM. There’s this little grocery store literally next door where the owner speaks perfect English and stocks Georgian wine that’s way better than anything you’ll find in the hotel restaurants downtown. And if you’re into the whole casino scene (Batumi’s got plenty), you’re close enough to walk but far enough to escape when you’ve had enough of the flashing lights. The neighborhood feels lived-in, you know? Real people doing real things, not just a tourist bubble. I mean, it’s not luxury by any stretch, but sometimes that’s exactly what you want – a clean, comfortable base where you can actually experience the city instead of being cocooned away from it.

Great location right in the city center, everything is close and easily accessible. The hotel is clean, pleasant, and comfortable. The only downside is the poor sound insulation – it was quite noisy even with the windows closed.

  • Nice and comfortable stay – Jacqueline from United Arab Emirates – August 22, 2023 (10/10)

The location is great as there are a lots of restaurants around the area. Tourist attractions are walkable. The room is clean, new and spacious as well as the bathroom. The staff are kind.

What could be improved: As there are quite a number of guests, it took us a while to check in but it's manageable, not a big deal at all. It only shows how great the hotel as there were a lot of guests coming at the same time.
