You know what surprised me about HOTEL LORD? I was expecting just another budget place in Batumi, but this three-star spot on Takaishvili Street actually has some serious character. I mean, the location alone – you’re basically tucked into this quiet residential area that feels authentically Georgian, not touristy at all.

The building itself has this understated charm that grows on you. It’s not flashy or trying too hard, which honestly feels refreshing after seeing so many over-the-top places along the coast. The rooms are clean and comfortable – nothing fancy, but everything works properly, and the beds are actually decent (I’ve learned not to take that for granted in this price range). What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night. Takaishvili Street doesn’t get the party crowds that swarm the beachfront hotels, so you can actually sleep without earplugs. The staff genuinely seems to care about getting things right too – they helped me figure out the local bus routes without making me feel like an idiot tourist.

Here’s the thing about the location that took me a day to fully appreciate: you’re walking distance to the old town and the sea, but you’re living where actual Batumi residents live. There’s a small market just down the street where I grabbed fresh khachapuri for breakfast – way better than hotel buffet stuff and costs practically nothing. The taxi drivers know exactly where it is (just say “Lord Hotel on Takaishvili”), and it’s an easy ride to anywhere you want to go. I stayed there during shoulder season in late spring, and honestly, for the money, it felt like I’d stumbled onto something locals might recommend to their visiting relatives. It’s not going to wow you with amenities or make your Instagram followers jealous, but if you want a solid base for exploring Batumi without paying resort prices, this place delivers exactly what it promises.

  Comfortable accommodation especially the air conditioning was excellent, the check-in procedures are easy and fast, the location of the hotel is close to the city centre and is close to some shops, the place is safe.

  What could be improved: I arrived at the hotel at 8 and a half pm and asked for a late check-out and my application was approved but the next day I was informed that the late check-out had been cancelled which bothered me.

  The hotel's location is between two important streets that run parallel to each other and to the coastline and it's surrounded by eateries, small shops and banks. There's a major oblong building seawards, so it's easy to navigate.
