I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to Guesthouse Family on that quiet residential street in Batumi, I wasn’t sure what to expect. The address (Kakhaberi I turn, house 30) sounds a bit mysterious if you’re not familiar with the area, but it’s actually tucked into this lovely neighborhood that feels properly Georgian, not touristy at all. You know what struck me immediately? How genuinely welcoming the family running this place is – and I mean that in the best possible way, not the fake hospitality you sometimes get.

This three-star guesthouse has this wonderful lived-in quality that bigger hotels just can’t replicate. The rooms are clean and comfortable, sure, but what really makes it special is how the family treats you like… well, family. They’ll sit with you over tea and actually tell you where locals go to eat, not just the places that pay commissions. I remember the owner’s wife drawing me a little map to this khachapuri spot that I never would have found otherwise – it was honestly some of the best food I had in Georgia. The whole setup feels more like staying with relatives than checking into a hotel, which I realize sounds cheesy, but it’s true.

What really impressed me was how they handle the practical stuff without making a big deal about it. Parking isn’t a problem (which, if you’ve driven in Batumi, you’ll appreciate), and the Wi-Fi actually works throughout the building. The neighborhood stays pretty quiet at night, though you’ll hear the occasional car since it’s still part of the city. The 9.6 rating makes total sense once you’re there – it’s not luxury, but everything works exactly as it should, and the warmth is genuine. I mean, where else can you get insider tips on avoiding the tourist crowds at the Botanical Garden while sipping homemade wine on a little terrace? If you’re the type who’d rather experience a place through local eyes than stay in some sterile chain hotel, this is your spot.

  The rooms are clean, with ac and the place is quiet. There is parking.
  We stayed just for 2 nights but we wish that we could stay too long as we were in the right place with the best people.

  Had a lovely stay at guesthouse family – the room was nice and clean, beds were comfy, the staff/family were very accommodating, helped with every need, felt like we were staying at mom’s house. The breakfast Marina made was delicious. Had full use of the washing machine, ironing board, kitchen outside and etc. The host took us on a beautiful sightseeing trip for an additional fee – thank you, Ruslan!
  
  It’s a bit further from the city centre, but it wasn’t a problem, because the taxis are quite cheap.

  From the family that hosted us here, to the beautiful and well equipped room, nice welcoming drinks and pleasant chats we had in late evening hours… Everything was perfect in this accommodation.
