You know what caught me off guard about Мой дом? The name literally means “My Home” in Russian, and honestly, that’s exactly how this place feels once you settle in. I mean, it’s perched up on the 16th floor of this residential block on Selim Khimshiashvili Street, which might sound intimidating at first, but trust me – the views over Batumi are absolutely worth the elevator ride up.

This three-star spot isn’t trying to be something it’s not, and I actually respect that about it. The apartment-style setup gives you proper space to breathe – something you don’t always get in traditional hotels around the city center. From up there, you can see the whole sweep of Batumi Boulevard stretching along the coast, and on clear days, you’ll catch glimpses of the cable car making its way up to Argo. The building itself sits in a pretty residential area, so you get this authentic Georgian neighborhood vibe that most tourists never experience. There’s a little grocery store just downstairs where the owner – this sweet Georgian lady – will try to practice her English with you while you’re buying your morning khachapuri ingredients.

What really surprised me was how quiet it gets at night, despite being in the city. I guess being up so high helps filter out the street noise, though you’ll still hear the occasional late-night taxi honking down below. The whole setup feels more like you’re borrowing a friend’s apartment than staying in a hotel, which some people love and others… well, it depends what you’re looking for. The 8.7 rating makes sense to me – it’s not luxury by any stretch, but it delivers exactly what it promises. You’re about a 10-minute walk from the main tourist strip, close enough to dive into the chaos of the dancing fountains and seaside restaurants, but far enough away that you can actually get some sleep. Plus, having a proper kitchen means you can hit up the local markets and try cooking some of those gorgeous Georgian vegetables yourself – something I always recommend doing at least once when you’re in Batumi.
