The place itself has this wonderfully authentic feel that I mean, you just don’t get in the bigger chain hotels. The owners clearly put thought into the details – the rooms have these lovely traditional touches mixed with modern conveniences, and everything feels genuinely Georgian rather than trying to be international and bland. I stayed during late spring when Batumi gets those amazing warm evenings, and having windows that actually open (something you take for granted until you don’t have it) made such a difference. The neighborhood gets pretty quiet at night, which was perfect for sleeping, though you’ll hear the occasional late-night taxi or group of friends heading home from the bars down in the old town.

What really sealed the deal for me was how the staff treated guests – not like walking wallets, but like people they actually wanted to help have a good time in their city. They gave me directions to this tiny khachapuri place around the corner that I never would have found otherwise, and when I mentioned wanting to see some local music, they knew exactly which café had live performances that week. Sure, climbing those stairs with luggage isn’t exactly fun (there’s no elevator, just so you know), and the Wi-Fi can be a bit spotty during peak hours, but honestly? Those feel like minor trade-offs when you’re getting such an authentic slice of Batumi life. If you’re the type who wants to experience Georgia rather than just pass through it, this place gets it right.
