ELIT APARTMENTS Overview
You know what struck me first about ELIT APARTMENTS? The building itself has this understated charm that’s pretty typical for Batumi – nothing flashy, but solid and welcoming in that Georgian way. It’s tucked away on St. Gorgiladze, which honestly is one of those streets where you actually get to see how locals live, rather than just the touristy waterfront stuff everyone posts on Instagram.
The apartments themselves are what I’d call properly functional – this is a three-star place that knows exactly what it is and doesn’t try to be something fancy. The kitchenettes are actually usable (I mean, you can genuinely cook in them, not just heat up leftovers), and there’s enough space to spread out your stuff without feeling cramped. What really won me over was the attention to small details – decent water pressure, reliable Wi-Fi, and windows that actually open properly for those warm Batumi evenings when you want that Black Sea breeze flowing through. The beds are comfortable enough, though if you’re someone who needs hotel-level housekeeping every day, this might feel a bit more independent than you’re used to.
Location-wise, you’re about a fifteen-minute walk to the main boulevard and the beach, which is actually perfect – close enough that you’re not stuck taking taxis everywhere, but far enough that you escape the constant buzz of tourists and street performers. There’s a decent Georgian bakery just two blocks down where the khachapuri is legitimately good (locals line up there in the mornings), and you’ve got a proper grocery store nearby if you want to take advantage of that kitchen. Parking can be a bit of a puzzle during peak summer months, but the staff generally knows where to direct you. I stayed there in early October, and honestly, the whole neighborhood felt more relaxed – you could actually hear yourself think, and the staff had more time to chat about good local spots that aren’t in every guidebook. The 7.5 rating makes sense to me; it’s not going to blow your mind, but it delivers on what it promises without any unpleasant surprises.
