I’ll be honest – when I first spotted Cozy studio with a balcony and sea view listed online, I was somewhat doubtful about the name. I mean, how many places truly live up to that promise? But you know what, this little three-star gem on the 19th floor really delivers on what it advertises. The moment you step onto that balcony, you understand why they named it this way – the Black Sea spreads out in front of you like this enormous blue carpet, and on clear mornings (which Batumi has plenty of, thankfully), you can actually see the coastline curve away toward Turkey.

The location on Sherif Khimshiashvili Street is actually quite smart if you know the area. You’re high enough up – 19th floor, remember – that you avoid most of the street noise that can drive you crazy in other parts of the city, but you’re still close enough to stroll down to the Boulevard in about ten minutes. The building itself is one of those newer high-rises that appeared during Batumi’s construction boom, so the elevator actually works (trust me, this matters more than you’d think) and the corridors don’t smell like someone’s been cooking khachapuri in them for decades. The studio itself is exactly what you’d expect – compact but cleverly laid out, with a little kitchenette that’s perfect if you want to grab some fresh adjarian cheese from the market and make breakfast while watching the sunrise over the water. The bathroom’s small but modern, and honestly, the water pressure is better than some fancier places I’ve stayed in the old town.

What really impressed me, though, is how the place feels during different parts of the day. Mornings are obviously spectacular with that sea view – I found myself rising earlier than usual just to sit out there with coffee and watch the fishing boats head out. But evenings are special too, especially during summer when you can see the lights from the casino district sparkling below and hear this gentle mix of music floating up from the Boulevard. The balcony gets this lovely cross-breeze that makes even July evenings comfortable, which is something you definitely want in Georgian coastal weather. Sure, it’s not luxury – the furniture is basic and you won’t find any fancy toiletries – but there’s something refreshing about a place that focuses on doing the essentials really well rather than trying to impress you with unnecessary bells and whistles. If you’re the type of traveler who values waking up to an incredible view more than having marble countertops, this studio hits that sweet spot perfectly.
