Batumi Palm Hotel Overview

I stumbled across Batumi Palm Hotel during my third trip to Georgia’s coast, and honestly, it caught me off guard in the best way possible. Walking up Lech and Maria Kaczynski Street – which locals just call “the Polish street” after those presidents who died in that plane crash – you’d expect another generic business hotel. But this four-star place actually has some personality to it, which is refreshing in a city that’s been building hotels faster than it can figure out what to do with them.

The thing about Batumi is that everyone gravitates toward the Boulevard and the beach, but staying a few blocks back like this actually works in your favor. You’re close enough to walk to all the main spots – the Alphabet Tower, the casino strip, that bizarre Piazza square – but far enough away that you’re not dealing with the weekend party noise that echoes off those glass towers by the water. I mean, don’t get me wrong, the seaside hotels have their appeal, but there’s something to be said for being able to actually sleep past 7 AM without construction crews or street cleaners waking you up.

What I really appreciated was how the staff seemed to genuinely know the area. When I asked about getting to the cable car (which, by the way, you should absolutely do if the weather’s clear), the front desk guy didn’t just point me toward a tourist map – he told me which marshrutka to catch and warned me that it gets packed around 4 PM when the local families head up there. Small details like that make a difference when you’re trying to move around a city that’s still figuring out its tourism infrastructure. The rooms themselves are solid without being flashy – clean, comfortable beds, decent water pressure, and thank god, reliable air conditioning. Georgian summers are no joke, and I’ve stayed in places where the AC was more of a suggestion than an actual cooling system. The 8.8 rating this place has makes sense when you factor in that it delivers on the basics really well, plus those little extras that show someone’s actually thinking about the guest experience. You know what sealed it for me? They had proper coffee in the morning, not that instant stuff you find in half the hotels around here, and the breakfast had actual Georgian cheese alongside the continental options – khachapuri ingredients right there if you wanted to make your own version.

To book hotel in Batumi during the famous Black Sea Jazz Festival, visitors should make reservations well in advance as this coastal city attracts beach lovers and cultural enthusiasts from around the world.

Nice room, good beds. Close to the sea.

  • Clean, modern, good value for money. – Michael from United Kingdom – September 2, 2025 (10/10)

A thoroughly enjoyable stay. The hotel is modern and well-designed, with decent-sized, well-furnished rooms, and a clean, well-maintained pool area with plenty of sunloungers. Most of the rooms and the terrace have a fantastic sea view which is wonderful at sunset. The bar has a good selection of drinks at reasonable prices. Staff are friendly and attentive, with a relaxed but professional vibe. Owners Henry and Inga and manager Nico have great local knowledge and are always happy to recommend local restaurants and things to do. We have stayed here a few times now and plan to do so again. Would recommend.
