I’ll be honest – when I first heard the name by the sea, I thought it was a bit too on-the-nose, you know? But after spending a few days there, I actually think it’s perfect in its simplicity. This three-star place sits right on Lech and Maria Kaczynski Street in Batumi, and while it doesn’t try to be fancy, it absolutely nails what matters most: proximity to the water and that laid-back Georgian hospitality that grows on you.

The thing about this hotel is that it gets the basics really right without any pretense. My room was clean and comfortable – nothing fancy, but the bed was actually good (I’m picky about mattresses), and the shower had proper water pressure, which honestly can be hit-or-miss in this part of town. What really won me over was the staff’s genuine warmth. The front desk guy, Giorgi, remembered my coffee preference by day two and would always ask about my plans for the day. It’s that kind of place where they treat you like a person, not just another booking number. The location is what really makes it special though – you’re literally a two-minute walk from the beach, and I mean a proper walk, not that “walking distance” nonsense some hotels claim. I could hear the waves from my window at night, which was surprisingly soothing.

Here’s what I loved most: you’re right in the heart of everything without being overwhelmed by tourist crowds. The botanical garden is just up the coast if you want to escape for a bit, and there are these little family-run restaurants nearby that serve incredible khachapuri – way better than the touristy spots closer to the main boulevard. The hotel doesn’t have a pool or spa or anything like that, but honestly, why would you need one when the Black Sea is right there? I spent most evenings just walking along the shore or sitting on the small terrace they have, watching the sunset with a glass of local wine. The only minor thing I’d mention is that rooms facing the street can get a bit noisy in the early morning – delivery trucks and such – but if you’re planning to be out exploring anyway, it’s not a big deal. For the price point and the experience, by the sea delivers exactly what it promises: a comfortable, authentic stay where the sea really is right there, and you feel like you’ve discovered something genuine rather than just another hotel room.

  Интересное жильё! Бассейн на улице, 5мин до взлётки, где можно посмотреть и сфоткатся, кагда над головой взлетает самолёт. Из окна тоже видно как они только начинают набирать высоту над водой. При закрытом окне тихо, нет грохота от взлётов. Вид на море и закат с балкона сидя в подвесном гамачке. Есть посуда разная.
  
  What could be improved: При заезде вообще была пустота, ни туалетки, ни соли ни сахара. Мы заезжали днём, пришлось идти покупать всё от А до Я. На 2их только 1 пододеяльник для укрывания. 2 кровати, но 2му человеку нечем накрытся. Если у вас ночной рейс, то уж не знаю….(((.

  Осталась в полном в восторге от качелей на балконе с шикарным видом на море.
  В номере была посуда, гладильная доска, фен и вообще все необходимое для комфортного проживания. Шкаф тоже был (уточняю, т.к. в одном из отзывов указано, что его не было). 🙂
  Хозяин оперативно выходил на связь и помогал решать возникающие вопросы.
  Огромное спасибо за отличное размещение! 🙂
  
  What could be improved: Получила ключи на несколько часов позже оговоренного времени, т.к. предыдущие гости чуть задержались.
  При открытом окне было шумновато, как и везде в районе аэропорта.
