I’ll be honest – when I first saw Batumi Luxury apartments perched up on the 18th floor of that building on Sherif Khimshiashvili Street, I wasn’t expecting much from what’s technically a three-star place. But you know what? Sometimes the star system doesn’t tell the whole story, and this spot in Batumi is living proof of that.

The elevator ride up feels like it takes forever (which actually builds up the anticipation), but once those doors open and you step into these apartments, the views just smack you in the face – in the best possible way. I mean, being on the 18th floor means you’re looking out over the Black Sea like you’re floating above it all, and honestly, that alone justifies staying here. The apartments themselves are surprisingly spacious and modern, nothing fancy but everything works properly – which, let’s be real, isn’t always a given in this part of the world. The kitchens are actually functional if you want to grab some fresh khachapuri from the market and heat it up, and the beds are comfortable enough that you won’t wake up feeling like you wrestled with a brick wall all night.

What really struck me about this place is how it sits right in that sweet spot where you’re close enough to walk to the boulevard and all the action in about ten minutes, but far enough away that you’re not dealing with the late-night party noise that can plague some of the seafront hotels. The street itself is pretty quiet – mostly residential with a few local spots that the tourists haven’t really discovered yet. There’s this little bakery about two blocks down where the khachapuri is ridiculously good, and the staff at the apartments actually told me about it (which tells you they care enough to share the good local secrets). The 9.7 rating this place has earned makes total sense once you’ve stayed here – it’s not trying to be something it isn’t, but what it does offer is done really well. The check-in was smooth, the place was spotless, and when the hot water took a minute to kick in one morning, they had someone up there within an hour to sort it out. That kind of responsiveness is worth its weight in gold when you’re traveling.
