Honestly, when I first heard about Batumi floor40, I thought the name was a bit odd – but once you see this place, it makes perfect sense. This four-star gem sits way up on the 40th floor of the Orbi City complex on Sherif Khimshiashvili Street, and I mean, the views from up there are absolutely insane. You’re basically floating above all of Batumi with the Black Sea stretching endlessly in front of you and the city’s quirky skyline – you know, all those weird architectural experiments they’ve got going on – spread out below like some kind of urban art project.

What really got me about this place is how they’ve managed to create this sort of sophisticated retreat feel while you’re literally in the middle of one of the busiest parts of the city. The Orbi City development itself is this massive complex that honestly felt a bit overwhelming at first (there are so many blocks and levels, I got lost trying to find the right elevator), but once you’re up in the hotel, it’s like you’ve escaped to somewhere completely different. The 9.6 rating makes total sense when you experience it – everything just works smoothly, from the surprisingly quick check-in to the way the staff actually remembers your name after day one. I was expecting more of that impersonal high-rise hotel vibe, but it felt much more intimate than I thought it would.

The location is actually brilliant if you think about it – you’re close enough to walk down to the Boulevard and the beach when you want that classic Batumi seaside experience, but you can also retreat up to your sky-high sanctuary when the city gets too intense. And let’s be real, Batumi can get pretty intense, especially during summer when everyone’s out until all hours and the music from the bars drifts up from the streets below. From the 40th floor though, all that energy becomes this distant, almost romantic soundtrack rather than something that’ll keep you awake. I stayed there in late September and honestly, watching the sunset over the Black Sea from that height while the city lights started twinkling below – well, it’s the kind of moment that makes you understand why people get obsessed with this weird, wonderful corner of Georgia. The whole experience feels like you’re getting the best of both worlds: you’re right in the heart of everything Batumi has to offer, but with this incredible elevated perspective that reminds you why this city has become such a magnet for travelers who want something a bit different from their usual beach destination.

  On the 40th floor of a newly built tower, the whole floor belongs to this hotel and you feel cozy but yet having a panoramic view towards the sea and the town at the same time!
