The rooms are clean and comfortable, nothing fancy but everything works properly – which, let me tell you, isn’t always a given in this part of the world. What really impressed me was how quiet it gets at night. You’re close enough to hear the distant hum of Batumi when the wind’s right, but far enough that you actually get proper sleep. The 9.8 rating makes total sense once you spend a night there – it’s one of those places that just gets the basics absolutely right.

Getting around is pretty straightforward if you have a car, though I’d definitely recommend arranging transport beforehand if you’re planning to explore Batumi’s restaurants and nightlife. The local marshrutkas (those shared minivans) run regularly during the day, but they thin out in the evenings. Actually, some of my best memories from staying here involved those quiet evenings on the terrace with a bottle of Georgian wine, watching the lights twinkle down in the city below. The owners were happy to point out good local spots for khachapuri that tourists never find, and there’s something magical about stumbling across a tiny family restaurant in Gantiadi where nobody speaks English but somehow everyone ends up toasting together anyway. If you’re the type who needs to be in the thick of things every minute, this might feel too removed – but if you want a genuine taste of Georgian hospitality without completely sacrificing access to Batumi’s attractions, Villa Gantiadi hits that sweet spot perfectly.

  The scenery is so spectacular, on the top of the mountain, with the sea right in front of you. The landlord has prepared all the essentials, which is especially suitable for team travel. It's really great.
