Old Street Guesthouse Overview
You know what surprised me about Old Street Guesthouse? The name makes it sound like some charming Victorian throwback, but honestly, it’s got this unexpectedly modern vibe once you step inside. I mean, sure, it’s a three-star place on Zubalashvili Street – which, by the way, is this peaceful residential stretch that most tourists completely overlook – but the owners have put some real effort into making it feel inviting rather than just functional.
Batumi can be absolutely crazy during summer season, with all the casino crowds and beach mayhem, but staying here actually gives you this nice escape from all that chaos. The guesthouse sits in what I’d call the “authentic” part of the city, where you’ll hear Georgian conversations floating from balconies and smell someone’s grandmother preparing khachapuri in the morning. It’s maybe a fifteen-minute walk to the main boulevard and beach – close enough that you’re not stuck taking marshrutkas everywhere, but far enough that you can actually get some rest at night. The rooms themselves are tidy and comfortable, nothing extravagant but they’ve got reliable Wi-Fi (which honestly matters more than thread count when you’re traveling) and the air conditioning actually functions, which is essential in Batumi’s humid summers.
What really convinced me about this place though was the breakfast situation – and I don’t mean some disappointing continental spread with stale pastries. The family that runs it serves up authentic Georgian breakfast with fresh bread, local cheese, and this amazing homemade jam that I’m pretty sure came from their own garden. The owner, this delightful woman who speaks surprisingly good English, gave me more valuable local tips in one conversation than I got from three different travel blogs. She directed me toward this little khinkali spot about two blocks away that I never would’ve discovered otherwise, and warned me which beaches get completely crowded by noon (spoiler: most of them). The whole experience felt less like staying at a hotel and more like visiting distant relatives who actually want you to enjoy yourself. Sure, it’s not going to win any design awards, and the shower pressure could be stronger, but sometimes you just want a place that feels authentic rather than Instagram-perfect.
Many travelers prefer to book apartments in Batumi through trusted local agencies that provide insider knowledge about the best districts for experiencing the city’s resort atmosphere and maritime heritage.

What could be improved: Everything was perfect.Highly recommended! The location is excellent, and the host and staff were outstanding. – Lilit from Armenia – August 17, 2024 (10/10)
The host and hotel staff were incredibly kind and accommodating, assisting us with everything we needed throughout our stay. The location was fantastic, just a 5-minute walk to both the beach and the city center, which made exploring the area effortless. We also enjoyed a beautiful view from the window, adding to the overall experience. The hotel features a charming little yard where you can relax or get some work done, as I did during my stay.
Exceptional – Ksenia from Georgia – August 14, 2024 (10/10)
What could be improved: Очень шумно всю ночь на улице, но думаю, это везде так в городе. До утра ездят машины с громкой музыкой и рычат двигателем, бывает пьяные ходят и орут.No recomendable – Ana from Spain – August 1, 2024 (1/10)
NO nos gustó nada
What could be improved: Sucio, mal cuidado.

What could be improved: Водосток расположен не там где надо, течёт через раковину и унитаз.. таким образом весь пол туалета в воде…There were no amenities. It was clean. You should expect not much. Worth for the price. – Yigitcan from Turkey – September 23, 2022 (8/10)
