RUMI Hotel Overview

I’ll be honest – when I first walked up to RUMI Hotel on Lech and Maria Kaczynski Street, I wasn’t expecting much from the exterior. But you know what they say about judging books by their covers, right? This four-star place actually surprised me in the best way possible. The location puts you right in the heart of Batumi, which means you’re close enough to hear the Black Sea waves if you really listen, but tucked away on a side street that doesn’t get the crazy tourist foot traffic of the main boulevards.

The thing that struck me most was how the staff actually seemed to care – I mean, not in that forced hospitality way you get at some places, but genuinely. When I checked in around 3 PM on a Tuesday, the front desk guy (I think his name was Giorgi?) took the time to mark up a little map with his personal restaurant recommendations, including this tiny khachapuri place two blocks over that honestly served some of the best cheese bread I’ve had in Georgia. The rooms themselves are clean and modern without being sterile – sort of that sweet spot between boutique charm and practical comfort. My room on the third floor had this quirky little balcony that overlooked the street, perfect for morning coffee while watching the city wake up. The AC worked great too, which is crucial during those humid Batumi summers when the heat just sits on you like a wet blanket.

What really sets RUMI apart, though, is how it feels like a local secret that hasn’t been completely discovered yet. You’re maybe a ten-minute walk from Batumi Boulevard and the beach, but the neighborhood around the hotel has this authentic Georgian rhythm to it. There’s a small grocery store literally next door where the owner’s cat basically runs the place, and across the street there’s this wine shop where you can grab a bottle of Saperavi for less than what you’d pay for hotel room service anywhere else. The breakfast spread was better than I expected – actual Georgian specialties mixed with continental options, not just the usual sad buffet situation. Parking can be a bit tricky since it’s a narrow street, but there’s usually space if you’re not too picky about walking a block or two. I’d definitely stay here again, especially if you want to experience Batumi like someone who actually lives there rather than just passing through with a tour group.

Reviews of RUMI Hotel

  • A memorable holiday! – Zarrin from Turkey – June 8, 2025 (8/10)

The staff were very helpful and friendly! When we arrived, they immediately let us enter the room, even though it was yet morning. When we stepped in, the room was clean. It was very easy to access the seaside, and the bus stop, along with the airport. The facility and price were matched.

What could be improved: The daily cleaning was not available! The center is close, but because of bus schedule, you may wait for a bit longer!

  • Good – Roland from Germany – September 27, 2024 (7/10)

Room at high floor. great view over sea and very close airport. Not sure how quiet it be when you have planes landing

What could be improved: Breakfast. Just a tray of food. No chance to select what you like. Sausages cooked in plastic like in the early 1970s. Coffee from sachet. All a bit underwhelming. Staff arguing about politics between them not helpful for atmosphere.

  • An option if you want easy access to the beach. But not if you need it close to center – Megha from India – September 7, 2024 (6/10)

    Room was fine
    The reception was friendly
You need your key card to enter the building or access the lift, which is good for security, but difficult if one of u wants to go to the room rest before the other.
The reception is at the 13th floor. The hotel is 13th and 14th floor only, the rest is apartment.
The breakfast is on the 1st floor.

What could be improved: The stay is 6 to 7 km away from the center
But the beach is right across the stay.
The budget double room has no balcony view, it faces the wall of the next building.
It's a simple breakfast with bread, instant 3 in 1 coffee or tea, egg and sausage and curd. It's the same everyday, would have preferred if something was different
There was a strong sewage smell outside the stay on the 1st night, dk from where but thankfully not inside.
    The kettle was dirty.

  • Kartvelishvili from Georgia – August 27, 2024 (7/10)

  • Pretty decent, would consider to visit again – Rachel from Georgia – August 21, 2024 (8/10)

Breakfast was pretty good. Same thing everyday so I wish they would change things up. The staff (2 ladies) were pretty friendly and everything went smooth. Whatever we asked they gave us instantly and loved how sweet those 2 ladies were.

What could be improved: Breakfast needs to be changed since it's the same thing everyday if you are staying there longer it can get boring. But overall it was pretty decent.
On the day we were checking out(aug 17), there was a male staff who kinda felt very rude to me. We were supposed to check out at 12 but delayed by exactly 30 mins and he was like oh you checked out late and gave a weird face and if we ask questions he seems to be giving very rude answers. Not sure if it's discrimination against another race or if he's rude like that but check out was a bit weird. Did not like his attitude.

  • Good – Yusif from Azerbaijan – August 15, 2023 (7/10)

    Staffs

    What could be improved: Breakfast🥲

  • Good – Reyhaneh from Iran – July 8, 2023 (7/10)

This hotel is located on the 13th and 14th floors of a residential building
    Breakfast is not self-service
    The staff is very friendly
The location of the hotel is very good
It is considered an expensive country
    we had a great time
    Thankful

  • good overall – Lama from Lebanon – December 21, 2022 (7/10)

    the view

What could be improved: no facilities

  • nice – Farkhadova from Uzbekistan – October 1, 2022 (7/10)

    very new and clean

What could be improved: very confusing entrance, that it has to slippers in the room, floor in a bathroom slippery when its wet

  • Overall it was good, – Khalid from Saudi Arabia – October 1, 2022 (7/10)

The room had an amazing view. It had a very good Air conditioner. The bathroom was good and clean. the hotel has a good security system that requires the use of cards to get into or out of the hotel facilities. also you could see airplanes take off and land from/on the airport.

What could be improved: We booked 2 twin sea view rooms of the same type, and one of them was much bigger than the other one, and had extra chairs and bigger TV, and non slippery floors. So, we felt like we weren't getting our money's worth with one of the rooms. Also the bed frames have pointy edges, and one of the rooms had slippery floor if not completely dry. I slipped and hit my knee on the bed frame corner, I will be going to visit a hospital soon to make the proper checkups on it. Also, there is no clear reception lobby for the hotel, or a sign for the hotel. we were looking for the entrance when someone from the hotel restaurant saw us and showed us the way and he had to open the doors for us and take us to the 13th floor, because only authorized key holders can do it. I just wish it would have been more easily accessible.
