I’ll be honest – when I first walked up to Apartments Anzor on Zviadi Gamsakhurdia street, I wasn’t expecting much from what looked like a pretty standard residential building. But you know what? Sometimes the best places are the ones that don’t try too hard to impress you from the outside. This three-star spot turned out to be exactly what I needed during my week in Batumi, and I mean that in the best possible way.

The thing about Anzor’s place (and yes, it really does feel personal – like you’re staying at someone’s well-kept family apartments) is that everything just… works. The apartments are genuinely spacious, which is saying something when you’ve been bouncing between cramped European hotel rooms for months. I had a proper kitchen that I actually used – not one of those fake kitchenettes with a broken microwave and no utensils. The Wi-Fi was solid enough for video calls back home, the hot water never gave out on me, and honestly, the bed was more comfortable than the fancy place I stayed at in Tbilisi the week before. Sometimes you don’t realize how much you miss having space to spread out until you have it again.

What really won me over was the location – you’re tucked into this quiet residential area where actual Georgians live their daily lives, but you can still walk to the beach in about ten minutes if you take the route through the side streets. I loved hearing the neighborhood sounds in the morning – kids heading to school, people chatting with their neighbors – it felt authentic in a way that the tourist-heavy areas near the Boulevard just don’t. The grocery store around the corner became my regular spot (the older woman who works there started recognizing me by day three), and there’s this little khachapuri place two blocks over that I’m pretty sure most visitors never find. Parking was never an issue either, which if you’ve driven in Batumi, you know that’s actually a big deal. The whole setup just made sense – you get the comfort and independence of having your own space, but you’re still connected to what the city actually feels like when you’re not constantly surrounded by other tourists. I ended up extending my stay by two days, partly because I wasn’t ready to leave, but also because Anzor made it so easy to just say yes when I asked about staying longer.

  Хорошая и чистая квартира с наличием всех удобств для жизни! На районе много кафе, магазины находятся рядом. А самое главное, что мы мало где видели такого внимательного и доброго хозяина!) Мы очень довольны и рекомендуем!
