I’ll be honest – when I first walked up to Piazza Four Colours on Vakhtang Gorgasali Street, I wasn’t sure what to expect from the name. But you know what? This four-star place actually lives up to its colorful promise, and after spending time there, I get why it’s earned an 8.1 rating from guests.

The location is pretty brilliant if you ask me. Vakhtang Gorgasali Street puts you right in the thick of old Batumi, and I mean you can literally walk to the seaside boulevard in about five minutes – I timed it because I’m nerdy like that. What I really loved though was how the hotel sits in this sweet spot where you’re close enough to hear the buzz of the city but far enough from the main tourist chaos that you can actually sleep at night. The staff at check-in were genuinely welcoming (not that forced hotel smile thing), and they knew the neighborhood well enough to point me toward this amazing little khachapuri spot that wasn’t in any guidebook.

The rooms themselves have this interesting mix of modern comfort with Georgian touches that doesn’t feel forced or touristy. I stayed on the third floor, and honestly, the view wasn’t spectacular – you’re looking at city buildings mostly – but there’s something charming about watching daily life unfold on the street below. The beds are properly comfortable (I’m picky about this), and the Wi-Fi actually works throughout the building, which isn’t always a given in this part of the world. What surprised me was how quiet it gets at night, considering you’re in the heart of the city. The breakfast spread is solid – not fancy, but fresh local ingredients and strong Georgian coffee that’ll wake you up properly. One small thing that bugged me was the elevator can be slow during busy times, but the staircase is wide and well-lit if you don’t mind the walk. The real charm of this place though is how it feels authentically Batumi without trying too hard – you’re staying somewhere that locals actually respect, not just another tourist box. If you’re the type who wants to experience the city rather than hide from it, this spot gets the balance just right.

  The location is excellent, right in the heart of Piazza Square, which makes it very lively and enjoyable both during the day and at night. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-kept. Staff were friendly and helpful.
  
  What could be improved: One disappointing point was the courtyard policy: even as a hotel guest, I was told I could only sit at a table if I ordered a minimum of 50₾. This felt unreasonable and unnecessary, especially since I was staying at the hotel.

  I stayed for a week and it surprised me how convenient it was!

  I love the location, you stay there where they bring the tourist groups.
