The location is honestly fantastic – you’re about a 10-minute walk from Batumi’s main beach area, but far enough from the casino strip that you won’t hear drunk tourists stumbling around at 3 AM. Sherif Khimshiashvili Street itself is pretty quiet, lined with those typical Georgian apartment buildings and small family-run shops where the owners actually remember your face after a couple of visits. I mean, there’s something refreshing about staying somewhere that feels connected to the actual city rather than some tourist bubble. The walk to the waterfront takes you through real neighborhoods where locals are hanging laundry and kids are playing football – it’s exactly the kind of authentic glimpse you hope for but rarely get.

What really impressed me was how the staff seemed to genuinely care about making sure guests were comfortable. The check-in process was smooth (no unnecessary upselling or lengthy speeches about hotel policies), and when I mentioned I was having trouble finding a decent khachapuri place nearby, the front desk guy – I think his name was Giorgi – actually drew me a little map to his grandmother’s favorite bakery. The rooms themselves are clean and well-maintained, nothing fancy but everything works properly, which honestly matters more than marble countertops when you’re actually living somewhere for a few days. The beds are comfortable enough that I didn’t wake up with that hotel-bed backache, and there’s decent water pressure in the showers – small details that make a huge difference. Sure, you might hear some street noise in the morning when the neighborhood comes alive, but it’s more charming than annoying, and the windows are good enough to block most of it if you’re a light sleeper.
