I’ll be honest – when I first walked up to Panorama on Tbel-Abuseridze Street, I wasn’t expecting much from what looked like a pretty standard three-star place. But you know what? Sometimes the best surprises come in unassuming packages, and this little gem absolutely floored me with its 9.9 rating that actually makes sense once you experience it.

The thing about staying in Batumi is that location can make or break your trip, and Panorama nails it without shouting about it. You’re tucked away on this quiet residential street – none of that casino strip chaos that can drive you nuts at 2 AM – but honestly, you can still walk to the seafront in about ten minutes. I mean, the staff here genuinely seem to care, which is refreshing. They remember your name after day one, and the front desk guy (I think his name was Giorgi?) actually drew me a hand-sketched map showing the best khachapuri spots nearby. That’s the kind of local knowledge you just can’t fake.

What really got me was the attention to detail that you don’t expect at this price point. The rooms are clean – like, properly clean, not just surface-level – and while they’re not fancy, everything works. The shower has decent water pressure (trust me, this matters in Georgia), the AC doesn’t sound like a freight train, and the beds are surprisingly comfortable. I actually slept better here than at some four-star places I’ve stayed. The breakfast isn’t going to win awards, but it’s fresh and they make a solid Georgian coffee. Plus, there’s this little terrace area where you can sit in the mornings and watch the city wake up – sounds cheesy, but it’s actually pretty peaceful. The only minor thing I’d mention is that the Wi-Fi can be a bit spotty in some rooms, but honestly, maybe that’s not the worst thing when you’re trying to disconnect and enjoy the Black Sea coast. If you’re looking for something authentic without the tourist trap markup, and you want to stay somewhere where the staff treats you like a person rather than a room number, Panorama delivers in ways that surprised me.

  What could be improved: Location is at a busy location well surrounded by grocery stores, but not in the heart of 'tourist old town area', so is further away from tourist attractions. Corridors of apt bldg is dark and seems rough, but that's really not the owner's fault, but it just feels a little scary at first, then you get used to it.
