I spent most evenings out on the balcony with a glass of Georgian wine (there’s a decent selection in the minibar, though you’ll pay for it), watching the sunset paint the sea in these ridiculous shades of orange and pink. The air conditioning works like a dream too, which you’ll definitely appreciate during Batumi’s sticky summer months.

The staff here actually seem to know what they’re doing – check-in was smooth, they speak decent English, and when I had an issue with the shower pressure on my second day, someone was up to fix it within an hour. The location is pretty smart too; you’re close enough to the action around the Boulevard and the old town that you can walk everywhere, but far enough up the hill that you don’t get the noise from the late-night beach crowds. Parking can be a bit tight if you’re driving, but there’s usually something available in the underground garage. I’d probably avoid the busiest summer weeks if you want to really enjoy the pool area – it gets packed with families, and while that’s not necessarily bad, the vibe changes completely. But during shoulder season? This place feels like you’re getting away with something, living in luxury while paying reasonable rates for what you’re getting.
