Orbi City – “A” Overview
Honestly, when I first walked up to Orbi City – “A” on Sherif Khimshiashvili Street, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect – the name’s a bit quirky, right? But you know what, this three-star place really surprised me in the best way possible. It sits in this sort of residential pocket of Batumi that feels authentically Georgian, away from the main tourist strip but close enough that you’re not stuck in the middle of nowhere.
The thing about this hotel is that it gets the basics really, really right. I mean, the rooms are spotless and actually spacious – which honestly shocked me given the price point. The air conditioning works properly (crucial in Batumi’s humid summers), and the Wi-Fi doesn’t cut out every five minutes like some places I’ve stayed. What I loved most was how quiet it gets at night; you’re on a side street so you don’t get the party noise from the boulevard, but you can still walk to Europa Square in maybe fifteen minutes. The staff behind the front desk – there’s this one guy who speaks excellent English and genuinely seems to care about helping you figure out the city. He actually drew me a little map showing which marshrutkas to take to get to the cable car, something you’d never get at a big chain hotel.
The breakfast situation is pretty solid too, though don’t expect anything fancy – it’s more like what a Georgian family might serve, which I actually preferred to those weird international buffets. Fresh khachapuri, decent coffee, and they don’t rush you out if you want to sit and plan your day. The location really grows on you once you realize how well-connected it is – you’ve got a little grocery store literally next door, and there’s this family-run restaurant about two blocks down that serves incredible khinkali (the hotel staff will point you toward it if you ask). Parking was never an issue when I was there, which can’t be said for hotels closer to the old town. Look, it’s not going to blow your mind with luxury amenities, but if you want a clean, comfortable base for exploring Batumi without paying resort prices, this place delivers exactly what it promises.
Hotels near me in Batumi offer convenient access to the seaside boulevard, where guests can easily walk to Batumi Botanical Garden, Europe Square, and authentic Georgian restaurants.
