I’ll be honest – when I first walked into Onyx Palace DeLux, I wasn’t expecting much from the name alone. It sounds a bit over-the-top, you know? But this four-star place on Sherif Khimshiashvili Street actually surprised me in the best way. The location is pretty brilliant if you ask me – you’re literally a five-minute stroll from the Boulevard and the beach, but tucked away enough that you don’t get the constant hum of traffic that plagues some of the seafront hotels. I mean, Batumi can get seriously busy during summer, especially around the main tourist strips, so finding a spot that’s both accessible and relatively quiet is actually harder than you’d think.

What really got me was how they’ve managed to nail that balance between modern luxury and not feeling completely sterile. The lobby has this rich, dark aesthetic – lots of marble and warm lighting – that feels sophisticated without being intimidating. The staff genuinely seemed to know what they were doing too, which honestly isn’t always a given in this part of Georgia. I watched them handle a pretty complicated request from some German tourists, switching between languages effortlessly and actually solving the problem instead of just nodding politely. The rooms are spacious by Batumi standards (and I’ve stayed in my fair share of shoebox-sized places here), with proper blackout curtains that actually work – crucial if you’re planning late nights exploring the city’s surprisingly vibrant bar scene.

You know what really sets this place apart though? The attention to small details that most places overlook. The Wi-Fi actually reaches every corner of the building, the shower pressure is consistently strong (not always guaranteed in this region), and they’ve got this quiet courtyard area that’s perfect for morning coffee before the city wakes up. Plus, being on Sherif Khimshiashvili means you’re walking distance from some genuinely good local restaurants that tourists often miss – there’s this fantastic khachapuri place just two blocks down that locals frequent. The 9.6 rating makes total sense once you’ve experienced how smoothly everything runs here. Sure, it’s not the flashiest hotel in Batumi, but honestly, that works in its favor. You get the comfort and service level you’d want without the inflated prices or pretentious atmosphere of some of the bigger international chains closer to the casino district.

  Апартаменты чистые и уютные, с удобной кроватью и всем необходимым. Есть все, что может пригодиться: кухонные принадлежности, средства гигиены, стиральная машина, утюг, сейф. Достаточно места для хранения личных вещей.

  Отлично подойдут чтобы остановиться для отдыха или на долгий срок.

  We liked the location of the hotel: there are grocery stores, pharmacies, cafes, exchange offices nearby. It is convenient that the room has a washing machine and a kitchen – suitable for a long stay. From the window of the room there is a stunning view of old Batumi and the sea, which also pleased us.

  The apartament is thought out to the smallest detail, starting from the very functional shower, big TV with all services needed and a nice spacious balcony, ending with a fully equipped kitchen and a great sea view from the window. Additional pros was a room lighting. Clean new room in 3 minutes of walk from the beach. Was perfect for our stay.
