Hotel London Overview

I’ll be honest – when I first heard about Hotel London tucked away on Giorgi Mazniashvili Street, I wasn’t sure what to expect from a place with such a decidedly non-Georgian name. But you know what? Sometimes the most surprising finds come from the most unexpected packages, and this four-star spot turned out to be one of those pleasant discoveries that makes you feel a bit smug about your travel choices.

The thing about staying here is that you’re actually in a really sweet spot of Batumi – close enough to hear the distant hum of the city center but far enough that you’re not dealing with the tourist chaos that can overtake the main drag during summer months. I mean, you can walk to the Boulevard and the beach in about fifteen minutes, which is perfect because honestly, who wants to deal with taxi drivers during peak season? The neighborhood itself has this lived-in feel that I really appreciated – there’s a small grocery store practically next door where the owner remembers your face after day two, and the tree-lined street actually provides some decent shade during those scorching July afternoons.

What really sold me on this place, though, was how the staff seemed to genuinely care about the details that matter. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward – no upselling, no lengthy explanations of obvious amenities, just “here’s your key, the elevator’s a bit slow but reliable, and breakfast runs until 10:30.” The rooms themselves strike that perfect balance between comfortable and unpretentious. Nothing fancy, but the air conditioning actually works (crucial in Batumi summers), the shower has proper pressure, and the beds are firm enough that you don’t wake up feeling like you wrestled a marshmallow all night. I particularly liked that the windows open wide enough to let in the evening breeze – so many hotels seal you in completely, but sometimes you just want that fresh Black Sea air, you know? The only minor thing I’d mention is that the Wi-Fi can get a bit spotty on the upper floors during busy evenings, but honestly, that might be a blessing in disguise if you’re trying to actually disconnect on vacation. Overall, it’s the kind of place that doesn’t try too hard to impress you with flashy amenities but instead focuses on doing the basics really well – which, after years of travel mishaps, I’ve learned to value way more than a fancy lobby that photographs well but leaves you hanging when you actually need something at 11 PM.

  • Snowy Batumi adventure ❄️ – Irina from Georgia – March 1, 2025 (9/10)

    • Convenient location (close to Piazza and Europe Square).
•The hotel seemed small (especially the hallway, elevator, room) but very cozy.
    • Polite staff
    • Clean room
    • Especially liked spacious shower (which is rare in small rooms)
•Breakfast – variety of food choice

Since I stayed out of season and got caught in a terrible snowfall, it was difficult to call a taxi to the hotel ( no available cars )
And since I had a train early in the morning, being late, I was very thankful to hotel employee who also tried to help as much as he could ))

What could be improved: A bit overpriced for the off-season, but perfect choice for the cold winter weather

  • Very Good – Ara from Russia – December 25, 2024 (8/10)

Great hotel for the money. We stayed in November which is dead season and the price was quite low. I would stay again next time I travel

    What could be improved: Food

  • Wonderful – Elena from Kazakhstan – December 21, 2024 (9/10)

Very convenient central location, great work of housekeeping (everyday they did very quality cleaning and replaced towels), great stable WiFi, good breakfast; great view from the balcony.

What could be improved: Monotonous breakfast (if you stay longer than day or two it might be a minus); broken door to the balcony, after we opened it we had to try really hard to close it, so it’s not too cold in the room.

  • Very Good – Nikolai from Turkey – October 29, 2024 (8/10)

Room is comfy and clean. View is beautiful.

What could be improved: As for me breakfast is so poor for 4 star hotel, and it wasn't tasty.
Staff is rude a little and barely talk english.
