Nana’s Hotel Tchaikovsky Street 34 Overview

I’ll be honest – when I first walked up to Nana’s Hotel Tchaikovsky Street 34, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. The name’s a bit of a mouthful, and it sits on this quieter stretch of Tchaikovsky Street that most tourists probably walk right past on their way to the main Batumi attractions. But you know what? That turned out to be exactly what made it special.

This three-star place has that lived-in feeling that I actually love – it’s not trying to be something it’s not. The lobby’s got this slightly retro vibe with worn leather chairs that are surprisingly comfortable, and there’s usually some older Georgian gentleman reading a newspaper by the window who nods at you when you come and go. The rooms are clean and honestly pretty spacious for what you’re paying. Mine had this massive window that looked out over the street, and I mean, it’s not the sea view you get at those fancy places on the boulevard, but there’s something nice about watching the neighborhood wake up in the morning. The air conditioning actually works (which isn’t always a given in this part of town), though the shower pressure’s a bit hit-or-miss depending on what floor you’re on.

What really won me over was the location – I mean, you’re maybe a ten-minute walk from the beach and all that chaos around the casino area, but when you want to escape back here, it feels like stepping into actual Batumi life. There’s this little bakery two doors down that opens at 6 AM and fills the whole street with the smell of fresh khachapuri, and honestly, that became my daily routine. The woman at reception (I think she might actually be Nana, but I never asked) speaks decent English and gave me these incredibly specific directions to places that weren’t in my guidebook – like this tiny wine bar tucked behind the market that locals actually go to. Parking‘s a bit of an adventure if you’ve got a car, but there are usually spots on the side streets if you don’t mind walking a block. The neighborhood gets pretty quiet after about 10 PM, which was perfect for me since I’m not really the party-till-dawn type anyway. With an 8.5 rating from other travelers, it seems like I’m not the only one who appreciated the authentic, unpretentious approach this place takes – sometimes you just want a comfortable bed, reliable Wi-Fi, and a genuine slice of where you’re visiting rather than some generic hotel experience.

  • Exceptional – Anna from Germany – September 3, 2025 (10/10)

It is a sweet hotel, the owners are very kind and helpful. The room had all amenities and I liked that we had access to the kitchen which had tea provided.

What could be improved: Slightly far from city centre

  • Good place – Mahima from India – January 12, 2025 (9/10)

I travelled with my family. We had a great stay.
    1. Location is really good, near a cafe and many supermarkets. Batumi beach and other attractions are 20 min walk away.
    2. Facilities were good. We had a kettle in our room and we were free to use the hosts kitchen. Some windows did not open, but nothing worrisome.
    3. It is a great value for money. The rooms are big.
    4. Hosts were amazing, helped us and were very welcoming.

Overall do give it a shot if you're looking for a comfortable, clean, affordable stay in Batumi.

What could be improved: Some facilities like windows, wardrobe handles did not function. Could have a bigger Dustbin, Could have something for a better scent.

+ There was nice internet and air conditioning if you need inside
