G-Point. Porta Overview

You know what surprised me most about G-Point. Porta? It’s tucked away on Egante Ninoshvili Street – this quiet little side road that you’d probably walk past without noticing if you weren’t looking for it. I mean, Batumi can be pretty overwhelming with all the glitzy high-rises along the Boulevard, but this spot feels refreshingly normal. The building itself has this sort of understated charm – nothing flashy, just solid and welcoming in that way Georgian hospitality tends to be.

The rooms are honestly better than what I expected from a three-star place. Clean lines, decent space, and – here’s the thing that really got me – the windows actually open properly, which is rarer than you’d think in newer Georgian hotels. The air conditioning works well too, though honestly, with the sea breeze coming off the Black Sea, you might not need it much except during those sticky July afternoons. What I really appreciated was how quiet it stays at night. You’re close enough to walk to the main action in about ten minutes, but far enough that you’re not dealing with drunk tourists stumbling around at 3 AM singing karaoke songs.

The staff here actually seem to care about what they’re doing – not just going through the motions like at some of the bigger chain places. When I needed directions to that little khachapuri place everyone talks about (you know, the one near the market that doesn’t have a sign), the front desk guy didn’t just point vaguely toward the old town – he actually sketched out a little map on hotel stationary. And parking… well, it’s Batumi, so street parking is always a bit of a gamble, but there are usually spots within a block or two if you’re patient. The whole neighborhood has this lived-in feel that I found way more interesting than staying right on the tourist strip. You’ll see actual Georgian families going about their day, smell someone’s grandmother cooking something amazing from a balcony above, hear kids playing football in the courtyard next door. It’s real life, which honestly makes the whole trip feel more authentic than just bouncing between hotel and beach and restaurant.

Hotels near me in Batumi offer convenient access to the seaside boulevard, where guests can easily walk to Batumi Botanical Garden, Europe Square, and authentic Georgian restaurants.
