I’ll be honest – when I first walked up to LHL Old City on Komakhidze Street, I wasn’t expecting much from what looked like a fairly understated building. But you know what they say about judging books by their covers, and this three-star place absolutely proved that point. The location is actually brilliant if you want to experience real Batumi without being stuck right in the tourist madness of the Boulevard area, though you’re still close enough to walk there in about fifteen minutes.

What really struck me was how the staff seemed to genuinely care about making your stay work – not in that overly rehearsed hotel way, but more like they actually wanted to help you figure out the city. The rooms are clean and comfortable (nothing fancy, but honestly, when you’re spending your days exploring, who needs marble bathrooms?), and I was surprised by how quiet it stayed at night despite being in a pretty lively neighborhood. The morning I checked out, the guy at reception spent ten minutes drawing me a little map showing the best route to avoid the construction on Rustaveli Avenue – that’s the kind of local knowledge you don’t get from chain hotels. There’s this little bakery just around the corner that opens at 7 AM, and I swear their khachapuri is better than anything I found in the touristy spots downtown.

Here’s the thing that really sets this place apart though – it sits in this sweet spot where you’re surrounded by actual Georgian life. You’ll hear kids playing in the courtyard across the street, smell someone’s grandmother cooking dinner, and see locals heading to work in the morning rather than just tourists with cameras. The Old City area has this authentic feel that’s getting harder to find as more international hotels move in. Sure, you won’t have a rooftop pool or a spa (I mean, this is a three-star after all), but you’ll have something better – you’ll feel like you’re actually staying in Georgia, not just some generic hotel that happens to be located there. The 9.9 rating this place has earned makes total sense once you spend a night or two here and realize that sometimes the best travel experiences come from places that focus on doing the basics really, really well.

  Buena ubicación en Old Batumi, apartamento con mucho encanto, amplio, bien equipado y mantenido (todo funciona bien), buen baño y cuenta con lavadora. Cama cómoda. Anfitrión amable y nos recibió un rato antes de la hora normal de entrada.
  
  What could be improved: Si quieres ir a la playa está a algo más de 20 minutos de paseo, pero conocíamos este aspecto y para nosotros no era ningún problema, preferíamos ubicación en el casco antiguo.

  A great place to call "Home" in its entire meaning! I felt extremely cosy and warm, especially on rainy days in Batumi. Located in Old Batumi, allows you to have an evening promenade and admire the magic of narrow streets and corners of the old city.
  From my first steps into the apartment I knew I am a welcome guest here, tons of thanks to the amazing Hostess for amenities in the room.
  Apartment is kept very clean with all needed facilities
  I stayed alone here and could not feel safer anywhere else. Thank you once again!
