The rooms are what you’d expect from a Meridien property, but with these subtle Georgian touches that don’t feel forced – think locally-sourced textiles and artwork from regional artists rather than mass-produced “cultural” decor.

Here’s the thing that really sold me on this place: the location puts you within walking distance of both the old town’s cobblestone charm and the newer casino strip along the boulevard, but you’re far enough back that you don’t get the noise from the late-night party crowd. I mean, Batumi can get pretty lively during summer season, especially on weekends when visitors pour in from Tbilisi. The hotel’s restaurant actually sources a lot of ingredients from local markets – I had this incredible khachapuri that rivaled what I found at family-run spots in the old quarter. Sure, you’re paying premium prices for the brand name and that 8.9 rating shows in the service quality, but sometimes it’s worth it for that perfect balance of international standards with genuine local character. Plus, parking was surprisingly painless, which anyone who’s driven in Georgian cities will appreciate.

  We had a really nice time at Le Méridien Batumi. The location is perfect—just a few steps from the promenade, historic sights like Europe Square, and tons of restaurants. Highly walkable.

  Our room was spacious, clean, and had great views from the private balcony. The A/C worked really well, and there was a wardrobe, minibar, and comfy seating area.

  The shower cabin door wasn’t sealed properly, so water kept splashing out onto the floor.
  The carpet doesn’t cover the entire room, and the wooden floor creaks loudly, which got annoying, especially at night.
