You’re close enough to walk to the old town and the boulevard, but far enough from the main drag that you won’t hear drunk tourists singing at 3 AM. There’s this little bakery two blocks over where locals grab their morning khachapuri – I stumbled onto it completely by accident and ended up going there every day.

What really won me over was how quiet it gets at night, even though you’re right in the city. The building has thick walls, and since it’s on a side street, the only sounds are occasional footsteps and maybe someone’s grandmother calling down from a balcony. During the day, you’ll hear kids playing in the courtyard – it’s that kind of neighborhood where people actually know their neighbors. The apartment gets great morning light too, which sounds like a small thing until you’re trying to wake up after a late night exploring Batumi’s surprisingly good wine bar scene. Fair warning though – like most places in this part of town, there’s no elevator, so if stairs are an issue, definitely mention that when you book. But climbing those stairs is sort of part of the authentic experience, right? Plus, Khatuna will probably offer to help with your bags anyway.

Travelers should reserve a hotel in Batumi at least two months ahead for major events like jazz festivals and beach celebrations, ensuring the best rates and prime locations near popular seaside attractions.
