I’ll be honest – when I first walked up to HOTEL orbi cyti sea view on Sherif Khimshiashvili Street, I wasn’t expecting much from this three-star place. The building looks pretty standard from the outside, sort of blends in with the other mid-rise hotels that have popped up all over this part of Batumi in recent years. But you know what? Sometimes the unassuming spots surprise you the most.

The sea view part of the name isn’t just marketing fluff – I mean, you actually get decent glimpses of the Black Sea from most of the rooms, especially if you’re on one of the higher floors. It’s not like you’re right on the beach or anything, but honestly, being a few blocks back from the main coastal strip has its perks. You’re close enough to walk to the beach in about eight minutes (I timed it), but far enough away that you don’t get all the late-night noise from the casinos and clubs that can keep you up until 3 AM during summer season. The staff at check-in was pretty straightforward – no fancy welcome drinks or anything, but they actually knew the neighborhood well enough to give me solid restaurant recommendations that weren’t just tourist traps.

What I really appreciated was how the place felt more like where locals might put up visiting relatives rather than a typical tourist hotel. The rooms are clean and functional, though the wifi can get a bit spotty during peak hours when everyone’s streaming. The breakfast spread is nothing fancy, but they do this Georgian cheese bread thing that’s actually really good, and the coffee is stronger than what you’ll find at most hotels in this price range. Parking can be a bit of a puzzle – there’s not a dedicated lot, so you’ll probably end up finding street parking a block or two away, which is totally normal for this area of the city. I’d definitely recommend this place if you want to experience Batumi without the inflated prices of the beachfront hotels, plus you’re literally a five-minute walk from some of the best khachapuri spots in the old town area.
