Guest House Gantiadi Overview

You know what struck me first about Guest House Gantiadi? It’s this perfectly unassuming place tucked away on Kutaisi Street that somehow manages to feel both local and welcoming to travelers. I mean, you’re literally in the heart of Batumi here – just a few blocks from the seafront promenade – but it doesn’t have that touristy hotel vibe that can feel so impersonal. The building itself has this charming, slightly weathered Georgian character that honestly made me feel like I was staying at a friend’s well-kept family home rather than some sterile accommodation.

What really won me over was how the owners – and I’m pretty sure it’s family-run – actually seem to care about the details that matter. The rooms are clean and comfortable without being fancy (this is a three-star place, after all), but they’ve got proper blackout curtains which, trust me, you’ll appreciate when those summer Batumi mornings start getting bright early. The Wi-Fi actually works reliably, which isn’t always a given in this part of town, and there’s decent hot water pressure. I stayed on the second floor and barely heard any street noise, though Kutaisi Street isn’t exactly a major thoroughfare anyway – it’s more of those pleasant residential streets where you’ll see locals heading to the nearby market in the mornings.

The location is honestly one of those sweet spots that locals know about but doesn’t show up on every tourist map. You’re maybe a seven-minute walk to the beach and the main Boulevard area where all the restaurants and nightlife happen, but you’re also close enough to the old town that you can easily explore the more authentic Georgian side of Batumi. There’s this little bakery just around the corner – I think it’s on Pirosmani Street – that does these incredible khachapuri that became my daily breakfast routine. The guest house doesn’t serve meals, but honestly, with Batumi’s food scene right at your doorstep, you don’t really need it. Parking can be a bit tricky if you’re driving (the streets here are pretty narrow), but there’s usually space on the side streets if you don’t mind walking a block or two. What really impressed me was how helpful the staff was with local recommendations – not just the obvious tourist spots, but actual places where they’d go themselves for dinner or coffee.

Batumi’s apartments offer charming accommodations with sea views, perfect for families wanting to experience daily life in this culturally rich Georgian coastal city.

  • Comfortable stay in Old Town – Floris from Netherlands – August 30, 2025 (8/10)

Very clean room, bathroom was very clean. The shower was fantastic – better water pressure than I have at home. The room was very quiet as well.

What could be improved: The bed was a little short for me, and some more linnen could be provided for the bed.

  • Great value hotel, very good location! – Tyler from United Kingdom – August 17, 2025 (9/10)

  • Wonderful – Engin from Turkey – January 4, 2025 (9/10)

We liked pretty much everything. Staff, location, oppurtinities all were very good. They were also very helpful. But it was hard to find the entrance. Focus on the street name and the door number, so you can find it.

What could be improved: No negative comments

  • Wonderful – Perisa from Turkey – August 21, 2024 (9/10)

This building is located in a central location. 10 min walk to Europe Square and Ali an' Nino statue ( and many things also). And if you want to go somewhere far, you may use the buses. The bus stops are also near. Room of ours was clean. Staff was helpful. They let us land our backpacks before we check-in ( we were there like 2 hours ago so). And the cleaning lady was sweet.
