Look, I’ll be straight with you – Apartment Gulia isn’t your typical hotel, and honestly, that’s exactly why I loved it. This four-star place sits right on Chavchavadze Street, which sounds fancy but is actually this perfectly walkable stretch where you’ll find yourself wandering past little cafes and hearing fragments of Georgian conversations drifting from balconies above. The building itself has that slightly worn Eastern European charm – you know what I mean, where the elevator makes interesting sounds but somehow that adds character rather than concern.

What really got me was how the owner, Gulia herself, seems to have this sixth sense about what travelers actually need. The apartment I stayed in had this massive window that caught the morning light just right, and there’s something about waking up in Batumi with that Black Sea breeze coming through that makes you feel like you’ve stumbled onto something special. The kitchen – and this is key if you’re planning to stay more than a night or two – actually works. I mean really works, with decent knives and pots that aren’t dented beyond recognition. You can walk five minutes to the central market and come back to cook fresh khachapuri without feeling like you’re performing surgery with butter knives.

The location is honestly perfect if you want to feel like you’re living in the city rather than just visiting it. You’re close enough to the boulevard and beach that you can stroll there after dinner, but far enough from the main tourist drag that you won’t hear drunk Russians singing at 3 AM (though let’s be honest, sometimes that’s part of the Batumi experience). I actually found myself taking different routes each day – sometimes cutting through the small park nearby, other times walking past the old Soviet-era buildings that somehow look both crumbling and dignified at the same time. The neighborhood has this rhythm to it, especially in the evenings when families come out to walk and kids play in the courtyards. Parking was surprisingly manageable too, which anyone who’s driven in Georgian cities will appreciate. The whole experience felt less like staying in accommodation and more like borrowing a friend’s place – if your friend happened to have impeccable taste in linens and always kept fresh coffee in the kitchen.

  Уютная просторная квартира с шикарным балконом, с которого видно море. В квартире есть все удобства: вай-фай, кондиционер в каждой комнате, кухня, посуда.
  
  What could be improved: Не очень приятный район, очень шумно, грязно. При выходе из дома хотелось как можно скорее уйти подальше. Хотя до старого города и моря близко – за это плюс! Еще было бы круто повесить занавеску в ванную, после приема душа мокрой остается вся комната.

  What could be improved: The pictures didn't accurately reflect the actual conditions. The Wi-Fi kept disconnecting, and despite the photos showing a pool, it wasn't available. The beds were uncomfortable, and the location was quite unpleasant. The place had an unpleasant odor, and the bathroom shower had a weak water flow, with no separation or shower curtain. Overall, the description was misleading, and the overall experience was highly disappointing.

  אספו אותנו מהשדה שזה היה נחמד. המיקום מעולה נוף מדהיה חדרים נחמדים. מזרונים פחות. לא היו מגבות במטבח. נתנו רק מגבת אחת לרחצה לאדם. אין מיקרו שזה קשה. המטבח היה מאובזר אולם לא היו במטבח דברים בסיסיים. כמו תבלינים סוכר .מלח . אולי איזה איזה חלב במקרר. חוץ מזה נהננו מהדירה מהמיקום מהאויר ומהנוף.
