The name makes it sound almost too simple, but honestly, sometimes the places with the most straightforward names end up being exactly what you need. I stumbled across this three-star spot on Vaja Pshavela Street when I was looking for something authentic in Batumi – and I mean actually authentic, not the kind of “authentic” that costs twice as much because they put local art on the walls.

The location is pretty solid if you ask me. Vaja Pshavela Street isn’t right in the tourist mayhem near the boulevard, which I actually appreciated after a few days of dealing with crowds around the Alphabet Tower and all that. You’re close enough to walk to the beach – maybe fifteen minutes at a decent pace – but far enough that you’re not hearing drunk tourists stumbling back from the casinos at 3 AM. There’s this little bakery about two blocks down that locals hit up for khachapuri in the morning, and I swear the smell of fresh bread drifting down the street became my unofficial alarm clock. The area feels residential in a good way, like you’re staying where people actually live rather than in some tourist bubble.

What really works here is that it feels like staying at someone’s well-maintained home rather than a corporate hotel trying too hard to impress you. The two-floor setup (hence the name, I guess) means it’s intimate – you’ll probably recognize the other guests after a day or two. The rooms are clean and comfortable without any fancy frills, but everything functions properly, which is honestly more than I can say for some pricier places I’ve stayed. The hosts seem to genuinely care about the place running smoothly, and they know the neighborhood well enough to point you toward the good stuff – like where to get the best adjarian khachapuri or which marshrutka actually shows up on time. I mean, with an 8.4 rating, they’re clearly doing something right, and after staying there, I get it. It’s not trying to be something it’s not, but what it is works really well for travelers who want a comfortable base without paying for amenities they won’t use.

  Very convenient location for exploring Batumi. Hostess was very kind to us, we kept our bags after ckeck out because we had late flight. It was raining heavily in Batumi, we couldn’t call a taxi to the airport for a very long time. Bolt was overcharging and didn’t come. The owner and neighbors helped us to call a taxi and we managed to get to the airport without being late. Thank you very much for your help!
  
  What could be improved: The room has damp air and sometimes the hot water turned cold.

  The host gave us a room better one other from what we had booked. It had its own kitchen. Everything was super clean, there were cups, plates, pots, everything to cook and eat, a good wardrobe, clean towels.

  Guesthouse or maybe better homestay located in a beautiful Batumi courtyard.
  Walking distance to the Promenade and Old Town with many shops and restaurants nearby.
  Small but well equipped room with a big comfortable bed, fridge,water cettle, clean bathroom with hot water shower.
  
  What could be improved: No sign anywhere outside or at the guesthouse which makes it difficult to find the place on arrival.
  
  No English spoken which made communication a little bit difficult.
  
  No privacy because people sitting just in front of my window early morning and late at night. Can be noisy some time.

  The location is central, it was a bit difficult to find, as it's in the courtyard. The room was nice enough, not too much space, the bathroom was spacy, but it was a bit freezing there in November. The owners are very nice.
  
  What could be improved: My problem was the noise – you rent a room in a large and noisy Georgian family. And you also get noisy Georgian neighbors who like to yell outside) I only stayed one night, so maybe they don't yell always)
