The kitchenette is small but functional (I made coffee every morning without any issues), and the bed was surprisingly comfortable for what I was expecting at this price point.

What really won me over was the location, though I’ll admit it took me a day or two to appreciate it. You’re about a fifteen-minute walk from the main boulevard and the beach, which sounds far until you realize you’re escaping all that tourist chaos. The neighborhood has this authentic feel – there’s a small bakery two blocks down where the owner started recognizing me after three days, and you can actually hear the city waking up in the morning instead of just constant traffic. Gio himself is pretty helpful too, though his English is limited. He left me a handwritten note about the best route to the botanical garden (which, by the way, is totally doable on foot from here if you don’t mind a bit of a hike). The Wi-Fi worked fine for my work calls, and the water pressure in the shower was decent – not amazing, but I’ve definitely stayed in fancier places with worse plumbing.

Look, this isn’t the kind of place you’d book for a luxury getaway, but if you want to experience Batumi more like a temporary resident than a tourist, it’s actually perfect. The studio gets morning light, which made my coffee routine pretty pleasant, and the whole area quiets down nicely in the evenings. I noticed some street noise during the day, but nothing that bothered me – just the normal sounds of people living their lives. The value is solid too, especially considering how expensive some of the beachfront hotels get during summer season. You know what surprised me most? How much I ended up enjoying that walk to the old town each day. It gave me time to notice things – like the way different neighborhoods in Batumi have their own personality, or how the light changes as you get closer to the water. If you’re the type who likes discovering a place gradually rather than being dropped right into the tourist center, Gio’s studio might be exactly what you’re looking for.

  Znalazłam jedynie dwa plusy tego apartamentu – lokalizacja i przemiły właściciel. Ok…jest wifi i wyposażona kuchnia. Ale i tak nie chce się tam siedzieć. Czystość ciężko ocenić, bo było posprzątane i ktoś o to dba…ale ta wilgoć i ślady po zabitych komarach na ścianach…nie polecam.
  
  What could be improved: Wszechobecny grzyb na ścianach i suficie. Wilgoć jest wszędzie i mimo posprzątanego apartamentu, zapach w środku jest nieznośny. Byliśmy ciekawi tego budynku, ale popełniliśmy błąd, że zatrzymaliśmy się tam na cały pobyt. Z ciekawości można tam zajrzeć i ewentualnie zostać jedną noc, więcej nie polecamy. Dobrze, że była ładna pogoda i nie musieliśmy siedzieć w apartamencie, chociaż noce w tych warunkach były przygnębiające.
