G-Point City Beach Overview
I’ll be honest – when I first walked up to G-Point City Beach, I wasn’t expecting much from what looked like a pretty straightforward three-star setup on Sherif Khimshiashvili Street. But you know what? Sometimes the unassuming places end up surprising you the most. This little gem sits just a few blocks back from the main beachfront chaos in Batumi, which actually works in its favor – you’re close enough to hear the waves if you listen carefully, but far enough away that you won’t get woken up by drunk tourists stumbling home at 3 AM.
The thing that really got me about this place was how the staff seemed to genuinely care about getting the details right. I mean, we’re not talking about luxury here – it’s a solid, no-nonsense kind of place – but my room was spotless when I arrived, and when I mentioned I was having trouble with the Wi-Fi, they had someone up to fix it within like ten minutes. The rooms themselves are pretty compact (as you’d expect), but they’ve made smart use of the space, and honestly, the bed was way more comfortable than I was anticipating. Plus, if you snag one of the upper floors, you can actually catch glimpses of the Black Sea between the buildings, which is a nice bonus for the price point.
What I really appreciated was the location – Sherif Khimshiashvili Street might not ring a bell if you’re new to Batumi, but it’s actually perfectly positioned. You’re about a seven-minute walk to the beach and the touristy Boulevard area, but you’re also right in the middle of where actual locals hang out. There’s this fantastic little bakery just around the corner that does these incredible khachapuri variations (the owner’s grandmother apparently taught her the recipes), and you’ve got easy access to the marshrutkas if you want to explore beyond the city center. The neighborhood gets pleasantly quiet in the evenings too, which I found pretty refreshing after spending days in the more hectic parts of town. Look, G-Point City Beach isn’t going to blow your mind with fancy amenities or Instagram-worthy lobbies, but if you want a clean, comfortable base that won’t drain your budget and puts you right in the heart of things without the noise and inflated prices of the beachfront strip, this place delivers exactly what it promises.
