Emerald Hotel Overview

Look, I’ll be honest – when I first walked up to the Emerald Hotel on Gogebashvili Street, I wasn’t expecting much from this three-star place. But you know what? Sometimes the unassuming spots are exactly what you need, especially in a city like Batumi where the flashy beachfront hotels can drain your wallet pretty fast.

The thing about this hotel is that it sits in one of those genuinely residential parts of town where you’ll actually hear Georgian conversations drifting from apartment balconies instead of just tourist chatter. Gogebashvili Street itself is pretty quiet – I mean, you’re not going to have nightclub noise keeping you up, but you’re also not stuck in some dead zone either. The beach is maybe a 15-minute walk, which honestly I preferred because you get to wander through some of those tree-lined streets where locals have their little corner shops and cafés that don’t feel like tourist traps.

What surprised me most was how the staff actually seemed to care about getting things right. The check-in was smooth – no weird hidden fees or confusing explanations about wifi passwords. The rooms are clean without being sterile, if that makes sense. Nothing fancy, but the air conditioning works properly (crucial during Batumi’s humid summers), and the beds are actually comfortable, not those rock-hard mattresses you sometimes get at budget places. The bathrooms are small but functional, and the water pressure is decent enough for a proper shower after a day of exploring. I will say the walls are a bit thin – you might hear your neighbors if they’re having animated conversations, but it wasn’t anything that kept me awake. The breakfast is simple but filling, with some local touches that feel authentic rather than just going through the motions. They had khachapuri that was actually good, not the sad tourist version you sometimes get.

What I really appreciated was the location’s practicality – there’s a decent grocery store just a couple blocks away, and you’re close enough to the old town that you can walk there without needing taxis constantly, but far enough that you’re not dealing with crowds every time you step outside. Plus, if you’re planning day trips to places like the botanical garden or even up to the mountains, you’re in a good spot to catch marshrutkas or arrange transportation without fighting through the main tourist areas.

Apartments in Batumi provide travelers with authentic local experiences, allowing them to explore traditional Georgian markets and experience daily life in historic seaside neighborhoods.

  • Overall we had a good time here. But the staff could use some work. Spend more time with guests and improve your approac – Kateryna from Germany – July 19, 2024 (7/10)

Beautiful room inside, everything is in working order. There is tea, coffee, a kettle and two bottles of water. Accessories include toothbrushes, small toothpaste, ear sticks

Nice restaurant downstairs and on the roof. sea and city views from the restaurant

An excellent cook who cooks deliciously and most importantly quickly. We really enjoyed the restaurant and breakfast. It was possible to diversify the breakfast menu a little (change the jam, add different cuts of sausages)

What could be improved: 💭Overpriced for the room. Cleaning was not carried out every day, you just had to ask at the reception. They didn't bring new bottles of water.

💭We rented a 35 m2 room with a balcony and sea view, but we were moved to another small room. This was not a problem, we were placed next to friends who had rented a smaller room. But at the reception we were not asked about changing our room.
💭 We were hoping for a compliment from the hotel, since we rented it during the wedding. The staff saw us leaving the room in a suit and wedding dress, they congratulated us in words, but nothing more. You could give a compliment to the guests in the form of a bottle of champagne. But this is my personal opinion

  • It’s the perfect location between the old and the new part of Batumi and the beach is bang in front! – Mouneeta from India – May 28, 2024 (8/10)

It was an ideal location to explore Batumi. The property was new and had a beautiful view from the lobby area.
    The staff was helpful.

What could be improved: The only small glitch was that a few of the rooms had windows that opened towards a wall, thus making the room quite dark. But their balcony rooms are really good!

  • Exceptional – Rupshikha from India – May 27, 2024 (10/10)

    Location, staff behaviour and view

    What could be improved: Nothing

  • Wonderful – Pınar from Turkey – April 14, 2024 (9/10)

The location of the hotel is fantastic, so close to tourist attractions and the bus line to the botanical garden. The facilities are quite basic and sufficient.

What could be improved: The only downside is noise especially in the morning. The staff should be more careful as there were guests at the hotel and some of them were with children.

  • Comfortable stay – Fatimah from Saudi Arabia – July 17, 2023 (10/10)

The location was great and the staff was friendly and helpful

What could be improved: My room has no good view
