Boutique Hotel O. Galogre Overview

I’ll be honest – when I first walked up to Boutique Hotel O. Galogre on Gorgasali Street, I almost walked right past it. The entrance is pretty understated, which is actually refreshing in a city where some hotels try way too hard to grab your attention. But once you step inside this four-star place, you realize the owners put all their energy into the experience rather than flashy exteriors.

The location is honestly perfect if you want to feel like you’re living in Batumi rather than just visiting it. Gorgasali Street has this great neighborhood vibe – there’s a little bakery about two doors down where locals grab their morning khachapuri (and trust me, it’s better than anything you’ll find near the main tourist strip). You’re close enough to walk to the seafront in maybe eight minutes, but far enough away that you won’t hear drunk tourists stumbling around at 2 AM. The Old Town is basically at your doorstep, which means you can actually explore those narrow cobblestone streets without dealing with the chaos of staying right in the thick of things.

What really got me about O. Galogre was how they’ve managed to feel boutique without being pretentious about it. The rooms have this nice blend of Georgian touches – I’m talking subtle nods to local craftsmanship – mixed with modern comfort that actually works. My shower had proper water pressure (you know how hit-or-miss that can be in this part of the world), and the bed was legitimately comfortable, not just “good enough for a few nights.” The staff seems to genuinely care about the place, which you can tell because they’ll give you actual recommendations rather than just pointing you toward the most touristy spots. One of them told me about this wine bar tucked away in a courtyard that I never would have found otherwise.

The breakfast situation deserves a mention – they do this spread of local and continental options that feels thoughtful rather than just thrown together. Fresh fruit, proper Georgian cheese, decent coffee (though honestly, if you’re picky about coffee, there’s a great little place called Cafe Adjara about a five-minute walk away). What I appreciated most was that breakfast doesn’t feel rushed. You can sit there, plan your day, maybe chat with other travelers without feeling like you’re being shuffled through a cafeteria line.

Look, it’s not going to blow your mind with over-the-top luxury, but that’s sort of the point. O. Galogre feels like what a good boutique hotel should be – comfortable, well-located, and run by people who actually understand hospitality. The neighborhood gives you a real taste of daily life in Batumi, but you’re still close enough to hit all the main sights when you want to. If you’re the type of traveler who values character over chain hotel predictability, this place will definitely work for you.

  • Batumi is awesome – Arsany from United Arab Emirates – August 23, 2025 (8/10)

Great location in old town Batumi, close to beach, main attractions and restaurants.
    Helpful staff & clean rooms
    Breakfast was good and decent.

What could be improved: Mattresses not comfortable at all, requires upgrade.
    Wifi is very poor

  • great hotel, totally worth the price, the facilities in the room are very rewarding. – Moriya from Israel – July 25, 2025 (8/10)

spacious superior room and suite. lovely location. great terrace and view of the old city.
the beds super comfortable, the shower was great.

What could be improved: the staff gave us the right service but was quite cold and did not smile or make us feel comfortable to adress them

  • Wonderful – מוריה from Israel – October 20, 2024 (9/10)

There was only a bin missing in the room 🙂
Other than that it was perfect!

Other than that it was perfect!

  • Get the Deluxe room – it is worth it! – Vitalii from Sweden – October 17, 2024 (8/10)

    Location,
The building is looking fantastically good inside and outside (but we were in the main building, the second one is not that good),
Extremely happy with our DeLuxe room (that is an important part of it – Standard rooms may bring different experience). But with our Deluxe room – with a balcony overlooking the Piazza, and a huge terrace in the inner yard – it was perfect.
Value / price is really good.
    Helpful personnel.

What could be improved: It seemed like the room was not cleaned till our arrival, so we had to spend the first night in another room.

  • Good location bad breakfast – Emily from United Kingdom – August 4, 2024 (8/10)

Hotel is grand and in a very central location.

What could be improved: Parking was very difficult to get out off due to people blocking us in
The breakfast was disappointing with very little choice and bad quality. Coffee machine broke

  • Normal – Ana from Georgia – January 2, 2024 (9/10)

One building is well made( where is the reception). We asked free upgrade from the second building( because it was unpleasant to stay there) and they helped us.

What could be improved: while the other is completely isolated (old) and noise was coming from the street.

  • Very Good – Giorgi from Georgia – November 8, 2023 (8/10)

The hotel is located in the city centre. Lots of nice restaurants around. Nice and comfortable room. Some of them are with balconies.

What could be improved: Breakfast was very poor and needs to be upgraded.

  • Good and beautiful but there are nuances. – Alina from Belarus – October 29, 2023 (8/10)

Great location. Old town and and attractions nearby. The windows overlook the square, it’s very beautiful and the hotel itself is well made inside

What could be improved: Mosquitoes in the rooms because of the gardens outside. Immediately ask for a mosquito repellent. There is very little choice for breakfast and the quality leaves much to be desired.

  • Wonderful – Heli from Finland – October 22, 2023 (9/10)

Room was great, two balconys, great views, awsome location. Really beautiful. I will come again.

What could be improved: Breakfast was ok, but not excellent.

  • Very Good – Søren from Denmark – July 15, 2023 (8/10)

    Location was great

What could be improved: Only people In the reception spoke English
